The 'relaxing' Loch Lomond cottages you can stay in for major discount
Some come with their own private hot tubs.
Holiday accommodation along the edge of Loch Lomond can currently be booked at a significant discount, and previous guests have described it as "beautiful" and "fantastic".
Auchendennan Farm Self Catering Cottages and Apartments is situated near the village of Arden on the southwest shore of the legendary loch. It is home to a number of individually styled self-catering holiday cottages that sleep up to 10 guests.
Currently, a two-night stay at the accommodation is available to book for as little as £159 through voucher website Wowcher —plus a £7.99 admin fee. Two nights at Auchendennan Farm Self Catering Cottages and Apartments usually costs £254, equating to a discount of 37 per cent.
Accommodation options include one-bedroom apartments, the Rose Cottage, the Burnbeag Cottage, and Finglas View. Rose Cottage, Burnbeag Cottage, and Finglas View sleep up to four, seven, and 10 people respectively.
Additionally, the bigger cottages come with private hot tubs. Finlas View in particular includes a pizza oven and a wood-burning stove.
Every cottage also comes with Egyptian cotton bedding and towels and fully equipped kitchens. Smart TVs and internet are also included.
The location of Auchendennan Farm Cottages allows for easy access to a wide variety of outdoor activities. These include biking and water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and jet skiing.
Other top attractions in the area include Balloch Castle Country Park and SEA LIFE Loch Lomond Aquarium. The former comprises 200 acres of gardens and nature trails, while the latter is home to more than 1,500 creatures.
If a stay at Auchendennan Farm Self Catering Cottages and Apartments does not appeal, there are a variety of other accommodation options along the shore of Loch Lomond to choose from. These include five-star hotel Cameron House and the three-star Duck Bay Hotel and Restaurant.
Auchendennan Farm has earned predominantly positive feedback from guests. On Tripadvisor, it has an overall rating of 4.2 out of five.
One previous visitor shared: "We stayed at Finlas View for a weekend and what a fantastic place for a relaxing peaceful weekend. The cottage is a home from home with everything you would need.
"The children loved the hot tub and it was lovely sitting out at night with the log burner. Only negative was the couches could have been cleaner as there was a few stains on them, but everywhere else was spotless.
"Bathrooms were beautiful. Beds really comfy with lovely bedding. Beautiful soft towels.
"Overall a fantastic experience. Staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend it."
However, on the other hand, another previous review stated that the accommodation was "definitely not luxury". They also described it as "dated".
