Clare announce new football boss following Peter Keane departure
Paul Madden has been named as Peter Keane's successor as Clare football boss and is set to take charge for a three-year term.
Madden will be a popular choice having guided Eire Og to three Senior Club Championships and is set to finalise his management team.
He takes over from former Kerry boss Keane, who guided the side to the Munster final this year but failed to win any of their All-Ireland group games.
In a brief statement, Clare GAA said: "We are delighted to announce Paul Madden as the Clare Senior Football manager for the next three years. Paul is a wonderful ambassador for Clare Football and has brought sustained success to his club Eire Og at senior level. We look forward now to supporting him in the role and in driving Clare football forward'.
While Madden added: "It is often said what an honour it is to manage an Inter County Team .. never more so when it is your own County. There will be many challenges ahead, however, there is no doubt that through hard work, a positive attitude and above all a fantastic group of footballers in Clare we will meet the challenge head on'.
