Image for illustrative purposes only. - CANVA SHAH ALAM – The main suspect in the murder of a female university student in Cyberjaya is believed to have entered her condominium unit using an access card and keys provided by his girlfriend. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the suspect is the boyfriend of one of the three women who were previously arrested in connection with the case. 'The access card and keys to the unit were handed over directly by the suspect's girlfriend. We do not rule out the possibility that the suspect had malicious intent toward the victim. 'At the time of the incident, the victim was living alone as her housemates had returned to their hometowns for the semester break,' he said during a press conference at the Selangor Police Headquarters on Tuesday. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan The 20-year-old victim, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student at a private university, had been staying alone in the unit after her housemates went home for the holidays. 'The suspect is believed to have struck the victim with an object, causing injuries that led to her death,' he added. Addressing speculation that the victim may have been sexually assaulted, Hussein clarified that the pathologist's report did not find any evidence of rape. However, police are continuing their investigation to determine whether any form of assault took place. Following the incident, the suspect is believed to have attempted to cover his tracks by disposing of the victim's belongings. 'He threw away her mobile phone and disposed of her laptop, keys and access card. Police have since recovered several of these items,' Hussein said. He added that police are finalising the investigation and will submit the case to the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon. The three women previously arrested, including the main suspect's girlfriend, a friend of the victim who lived in the unit above, and another woman who was with the suspect during an ATM withdrawal, are still assisting police with their inquiries. The case came to light after the victim's body was found in her condominium unit in Cyberjaya at 10.28am last Tuesday. The murder was reportedly solved within 48 hours following the arrest of four suspects, one man and three women. It was also reported that the main suspect used the victim's ATM card to withdraw RM200 shortly after the incident. Sepang District Police Chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman previously confirmed that the arrests were made between Thursday morning and early Friday in Johor Bahru and Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan, by teams from Bukit Aman, the Selangor Police Headquarters and the Sepang District Police.
