Ellen Pompeo's beau of 22 years can't stop kissing the $150M Grey's Anatomy star in rare PDA-fest
Ellen Pompeo planted a big kiss on her husband of 18 years when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Tuesday. The 55-year-old blonde beauty - who came to fame on TV's Grey's Anatomy - looked overjoyed with her better half as she leaned in for the smooch. The looker also wrapped both arms around his waist; for his part Chris, 57, put an arm around her shoulders with his other hand on her elbow for a full clinch. Ellen, who is worth $150M according to Celebrity Net Worth - was smiling from ear-to-ear during the public display of affection which also included hand holding. Also with the lovebirds, who first started dating in 2003, were two of their three children. The TV staple was on a Hollywood sidewalk with her 15-year-old daughter Stella Luna - who appeared taller than she - and her eight-year-old son Eli. Her daughter named Sienna May, born in 2014, was not seen. Chris used to work in the music industry. He was writer on Rihanna's song Cheers (Drink to That). Now Ivery works in the fashion business. Since 2019, Ivery has been employed at Sergio Tacchini, a heritage athletics brand founded in 1966 by the Italian tennis champion. The actress was getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday when Chris kissed her. The matriarch looked thrilled with the Tinseltown honor as she wore a pink mock neck top, a black skirt with a red lava design and strappy heels. In her speech, Pompeo talked about her children. 'This doesn't happen overnight, and it doesn't happen easily. It takes a village. I love you Stella. I love you Eli,' she said. She also thanked Shonda Rhimes, who spoke at Pompeo's ceremony: 'Shonda allowed me to have a career, and get paid and be a mother,' she said/ This comes after she talked about Grey's on Good American Family. The actress admitted to having reservations about portraying Kristine Barnett, the adopted mother of Natalia Grace, a Ukrainian adoptee accused of faking her age. 'It was like, "Wow, this is intense. How would we pull this off?"' she recalled to People thinking after reading the script. 'And I said, like I say often, "This isn't for me." And then everyone around me convinces me that this is something you definitely should take seriously and you should do.' Although she did not meet Barnett, Pompeo prepared to get into character by reading parenting books and police reports ahead of production. 'I mean, so much of acting is not only just emotion, but it's physicality. You have to tie the two things together,' she explained. 'And you have to work yourself up, you have to get yourself in a state to be able to deliver certain lines and a truthful performance.' She continued: 'And you have to work yourself up, you have to get yourself in a state to be able to deliver certain lines and a truthful performance. It's hard, but you have to go to dark places in your mind and make yourself uncomfortable.' Pompeo noted that 'just the very ideas of some of things' she 'had to do and say' on set 'were so tough.' Although the role is a huge departure from playing her beloved character, Meredith Grey, the Golden Globe nominee said she used her experience as a mom and life experiences to shape her portrayal of Barnett. 'I think all mothers have the intention to love their children endlessly and to do everything in their power to give their children the best chance,' she explained. 'I have three children of my own, so a mother's love and passion was where I started from.' The star also raved about working with Imogen Faith Reid, who was cast as Natalia. 'We probably had a two or three-hour Zoom, and we just really hit it off,' Pompeo said. 'And I thought, "This is how we pull it off — with her." And I wasn't wrong. She delivers, for sure.' Pompeo, who founded the production company Calamity Jane, went on to reflect on how her years working on Grey's Anatomy with creator Shonda Rhimes have shaped which projects she has taken on. 'Obviously I have a fantastic legacy working with Shonda, and she changed the television game forever, for the better. So I have learned from the best,' she told the outlet. Pompeo said she is motivated to 'tell inclusive stories and to tell all kinds of stories about all kinds of people.' She said Good American Family is an example of a project that shines a light on how 'human beings look at people' and 'judge them' based on 'preconceived notions we have of people based on what they look like or how they may sound.' 'And sometimes that's for the better and sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's a defense mechanism, we think we're keeping ourselves safe. But at the end of the day, less judgment and more acceptance would do us all so much good,' the mom-of-three pointed out. The eight-episode series, which comes out on March 19, will discuss the Barnett family background, the adoption and the events that unfold afterwards. Grace was born in the Ukraine and diagnosed with spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita - a rare form of dwarfism. She was adopted by the Barnetts in 2010, and her name was legally changed to Natalia Grace Barnett. Kristine and Michael grew suspicious of her age after the adoption and petitioned a court to 're-age' her by changing her birth year from 2003 to 1989. Her legal age was changed to 22 in 2013, and after the Barnetts got Grace her own apartment, they moved to Canada before divorcing in 2018. Grace was later taken in by Cynthia and Antwon Mans, who adopted her in 2023 after her birth year was restored to 2003. She left the Mans' household later that year and began living with Nicole and Vince DePaul in New York. Grace is now preparing for independent living and told PEOPLE she was learning to drive and studying for her GED in January 2025.

Ellen Pompeo reveals husband Chris Ivery never watched 'Grey's Anatomy': It was better for him
Ellen Pompeo may have spent nearly two decades starring as Meredith Grey in Grey's Anatomy, but her husband, Chris Ivery, never became a fan of the show. The music producer and fashion executive has built a successful career of his own while keeping a low profile in Hollywood. Despite Grey's Anatomy making Pompeo one of TV's highest-paid actresses, Ivery never watched the hit medical drama. 'Chris really never watched the show,' Pompeo admitted, explaining that it helped keep their personal life separate from her on-screen romance with Patrick Dempsey's character, Derek Shepherd. 'It was better for him,' she added. Ivery has spent years in the music industry, with his most notable credit as a songwriter on Rihanna's 2010 hit Cheers (Drink to That). He later transitioned into fashion, becoming the chief executive of lifestyle marketing for Sergio Tacchini, an Italian sportswear brand with celebrity fans like Justin Bieber and Jay-Z. The couple's love story began in an unexpected place—a grocery store. They met in 2003, and after a rocky start, they tied the knot in 2007 in an intimate ceremony at New York City Hall, with then-mayor Michael Bloomberg as a witness. They now share three children: daughters Stella Luna and Sienna May, and son Eli Christopher. Photo: Dolce & Gabbana Pompeo and Ivery have kept their relationship private, but the actress has spoken out about the challenges they faced, including media scrutiny over their interracial marriage. 'The racial component of our relationship was really something he never asked for,' she said, recalling the harsh public attention they received. Despite the challenges, their bond remains strong. While Pompeo built a legendary TV career, Ivery found success in music and fashion—without ever watching the show that made his wife a household name.
