GUBBIO v MILAN FUTURO: MATCH PREVIEW
GUBBIO v MILAN FUTURO: MATCH PREVIEW No rest on Easter Monday for Milan Futuro, who are ready to play on Matchday 37 (out of 38) in Serie C. The boys will be travelling to Umbria to face Gubbio on Monday 21 April at 15:00 CEST, during a positive spell at the end of the season that has begun to show what we are really capable of. Advertisement LATEST FROM MILAN FUTURO Oddo's Rossoneri are in their best form of the year, right at the end of a very tiring season. Three wins in a row for the first time this campaign, and it comes at a crucial time, boosting our hopes and energy. From 3-2 against Campobasso, to 2-1 against Sestri Levante, to 1-0 against Ternana: nine points that make a huge difference, and that are hugely deserved for top performances and for the hard work shown over months without much reward. We are still in a tough position in the table, in 17th place on 33 points, so our final two games against Gubbio and Vis Pesaro are huge in reaching our goal. Both Quirini and Magni are suspended. LATEST FROM GUBBIO Fontana's squad are in eleventh place, just behind Pontedera who are ahead on goal difference. It is a key detail because, if it stayed like today, the Lupi would not go into the play-offs, even though they're fully on course for them. It will be a home game and they'll have the support of their fans, and although they score less at home than away, it will hugely boost them to give their all and to push for that win. Their recent form hasn't been great: last weekend they lost to Pescara (0-2) after a draw against Ascoli (0-0). Normally, Gubbio play a 4-3-3, and the striker Tommasini (on eight goals) is their biggest threat. MILAN FUTURO v LUCCHESE: MATCH PREVIEW
This is a match which can be seen as a real "six-pointer". The stakes in this match, Milan Futuro v Lucchese, remain as the three usual points, however, this match also represents a clash which could shape the destiny of the two sides, who are hoping to stay in group B of Serie C. The Rossoneri come into the clash in their best form of the season - three games unbeaten - and will hope to build on their brilliant win in Ferrara. We prepare for kick off with our Match Preview. LATEST FROM MILAN FUTURO Ascoli, Rimini and SPAL. Five points in three matches have given Coach Bonera's side a big boost, especially after welcoming reinforcements during the Winter Transfer Window. Additionally, there has been a clear development in the quality of the performances, alongside the improvement in results. The new arrivals have helped in bringing players in who are able to aid significant improvement in form in the recent weeks and helped the team believe that climbing up the table is certainly possible. The match against Lucchese will be the first appearance for the former Cittadella man Simone Branca, as well as being a special match for Ettore Quirini, who, following his goal against Ferrara, finds himself facing the team he grew up with in the footballing world, after his youth appearances for Fiorentina. Bartesaghi, Coubis and Minotti will miss the game through suspension. LATEST FROM LUCCHESE Lucca's side find themselves in a difficult run of form, with just one win in their last nine matches - 2-1 against Ascoli on 24 January - and they have not managed to win away from home since 22 September. The current standings show the league to be tight - Lucchese are just one point ahead of Milan Futuro - and they have brought in a number of new faces during the Winter transfer window: in total they have brought in ten players, including some loans from Serie A (Ballarini and Diawara from Udinese, Salomaa from Lecce). Between December and the start of January, the Tuscan side opted to play with a back four, before reverting to their traditional 3-5-2 in their last three outings. Certain players to be aware of included Saporiti - who scored in the first meeting between the sides - as he comes back from suspension and is the side's leading scorer (five goals in the league), alongside the forward Magnaghi. Milan Futuro 0-0 Rimini: Penalty miss leaves Bonera's side with bittersweet feeling
Milan Futuro's winless run in the league continued as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Rimini in round 24, but they really should have got all three points. There was a bitter taste in the mouth after the 2-2 draw away against Ascoli one week ago as Milan gave away a late equaliser after a needless red card, and after having played well for most of the game. They were back home today and they got a clean sheet in a scoreless stalemate against Rimini, who are eighth in the table, but it inevitably leaves some regrets because Daniele Bonera's side certainly deserved a different score at the final whistle, just like last week. The biggest opportunity fell to Magrassi who took the responsibility of a spot kick in the 26th minute, but it was met by a great save for Colombi. There were further great chances for Ianesi, Quirini and Sandri, all in the second half. It was another good performance but ultimately another game without a win, extending the run to six games without victory in Serie C. The next match is on Saturday at 15:00 CET in Ferrara against SPAL, with the Futuro third-bottom in the league on just 19 points from 24 games.
