'Boy Mamabolo was my ice boy', says Malema
EFF leader Julius Malema has taken a swipe at former ANC MP Jacob Boy Mamabolo, claiming he was his 'ice boy' — a person who is broke and acts as an errands runner for wealthier friends. The two Seshego-born politicians go way back. They were in the ANC Youth League together, with Malema being the president until his expulsion in 2012. They also served together in the Congress of South African Students. In an interview with EWN, Malema said he used to send Mamabolo out to do things for him. 'To call [former EFF member Mbuyiseni] Ndlozi an ice boy was an extreme insult; he had a role to play, he was a spokesperson. Boy Mamabolo was my ice boy,' Malema said. 'I used to send him to fetch girls, send him to buy ice and alcohol. He didn't have an opinion, even now he doesn't have an opinion. He was useful for such things.'

Former Kaizer Chiefs fan favourite booked into rehab
Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has taken a major step toward rebuilding his life and career by checking into rehab. The 28-year-old Seshego-born attacker last featured for Upington City in the Motsepe Championship before entering rehab. CEO of the Hope of Achievers Rehabilitation Centre in Limpopo Watson Luandi, confirmed that Sekgota was one of three players currently undergoing treatment at the facility. The other two are former Bafana Bafana midfielder Lerato Chabangu and Yamkela Phalane. 'Firstly, let me give acknowledgment to NKRL foundation that does the work of recognising the soccer players who are in need of help. Our passion is to help these guys so that they can regain their dignity on and off the field. While on that, let me stress this point, Kgaogelo was not using drugs. He is only using Marijuana which is easy to rehabilitate,' Luandi told Soccer Laduma . 'My job is to help them find themselves and rewriting their story. So it's up to the patient after they finish the program if they are willing to go back to soccer. As the centre we can't decide for them, but so far Sekgota, as well as the other players who are here, are doing very well and they will be ready to be reintegrated to society soon.' Luandi disclosed that a Moroccan team was interested in signing the former Kaizer Chiefs winger but could not do so because he was undergoing rehabilitation. 'There is a team that he is contracted to presently, so I think they are the best to answer that question, but we believe that there is a club in Morocco that has previously shown interest in the player and that's why the family wants him to get his life back as he is still young,' he concluded.
