Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the death of the eighth Mahadasoha Peetadhipathi of the Sharnbasaveshwar Samsthan Sharnbaswappa Appa describing it as a great loss not only to his family and countless followers but also to the entire nation. In a condolence letter addressed to Chairperson of the Sharnbasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Dakshayini S. Appa, the Prime Minister has said that Appa had devoted his life to the expansion of the social and spiritual service activities of the samsthan. 'His guidance touched the lives of innumerable people across the region, inspiring them to walk the path of devotion, love and humility with a sense of higher purpose,' Mr. Modi noted.
