Summer-like temperatures, hazy skies from wildfire smoke continue on Wednesday
Wednesday will look and feel more like summer, so have a spot to cool off. Temperatures will jump into the upper 80s and humidity will also be on the rise, making it feel a few degrees hotter. Wildfire smoke will give us another day of hazy sunshine and air quality will once again be in the 'moderate' range, which could cause problems for those who are unusually sensitive to respiratory ailments. Hazy skies from Canadian wildfire smoke, highs in the low 80s
Hazy sunshine with much warmer temperatures are expected this afternoon; highs jump to the low 80s. Canadian wildfire smoke will continue keeping our sky looking hazy, low visibility is possible as the smoke mixes down to the surface a little more later today. The afternoon and evening sky should be particularly hazy, which should help to provide a spectacular sunset. No air quality alerts have been issued; however, those who are unusually sensitive to respiratory ailments should limit overexertion outside this afternoon and evening. The air quality is considered 'moderate,' but not bad enough for an alert. Make sure to check back for the latest on the smoke and air quality forecast. The dry stretch continues Wednesday along with the hazy sunshine; highs will soar to the mid-80s with noticeably more humid air. Scattered thunderstorm chances return Thursday through Saturday morning. This pattern shift will also help push the smoke out of our area for the end of the week. Tuesday to see mild temperatures return, air quality warning from Canadian wildfire smoke
Hazy sunshine and mild temperatures will return Tuesday as our stretch of dry weather continues. Smoke from Canadian wildfires could reduce visibility at times later Tuesday afternoon and evening and impact air quality. Tuesday will be a Code Yellow Air Quality day, which means that extremely sensitive people may wish to limit their time outdoors. Warmer, more humid weather will settle in Wednesday with high temperatures pushing into the mid to upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Heat index readings could creep above 90 under mostly sunny skies. Sunny and much warmer this afternoon. Highs are expected to be closer to normal in the low to mid-70s. Canadian wildfire smoke will increase in our sky again this afternoon and will keep the sky looking hazy. No impacts are expected here at this time from the smoke, but that may change on Tuesday, as smoke may mix down to the surface more. Temperatures drop overnight, smoke from Canadian wildfires creates hazy sky in our area
It will be pleasant but cool this evening as temperatures fall from the 60s into the 50s. Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is high in the atmosphere and keeping our sky looking hazy. No impacts are expected here at this time from the smoke, but that may change in the coming days. Smoke may increase in the area again on Monday evening and through the day on Tuesday. A Frost Advisory is in effect for Forest, Clarion and eastern Tucker counties from 1 a.m. through 8 a.m. Monday. Frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants/vegetation, so make sure to cover them or bring them indoors before bed tonight. Monday will start chilly, but it will be sunny and much warmer by the afternoon. Highs are expected to be back closer to normal in the low to mid 70s.
