A Group of International Sewists is Attempting to Help 25,000 Girls with Life Changing Supplies
Fourth Annual Sew-A-Thon Launched by Sew Powerful

The Sew‑A‑Thon challenges sewing enthusiasts across the globe to make purses during September and raise funds in support of the campaign. Each purse-filled with reusable hygiene supplies-costs just $10 to produce and enables a schoolgirl in Zambia to confidently attend school every day of the month.
2025 Sew-A-Thon Goals:
Raise $250,000
Enroll 1,000 purse‑makers
Engage 2,000 donors
The event is made possible thanks to the generous support of an impressive group of corporate sponsors-leaders in the sewing, quilting, and creative industries. Sew Powerful lives out its mission by creating purposeful products that change communities-things like school uniforms, reusable hygiene pads, soap, and farm-fresh food. In Zambia, the organization provides good-paying jobs to local team members who 'do well by doing good,' and they're supported by thousands of passionate volunteers around the world.
