BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain offers namaz in Supaul on Eid al-Adha

Supaul (Bihar) [India], June 7 (ANI): BJP's national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain offered namaz in Bihar's Supaul on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. The former Union Minister said he prayed for Bihar and the nation's prosperity. Talking to ANI, he wished everyone a happy Eid. He said, 'Eid al-Adha is a festival of sacrifice. Everyone should celebrate it together. I pray that the whole nation unites and moves ahead.' On offering namaz at his hometown, Supaul, he said, 'Today I offered Eid's namaz at Supaul's Idgah on Eid al-Adha, I am in Supaul. This time, too, I offered Eid's namaz at home. I pray that Bihar and the whole nation prosper and we all unite.' Taking to X, Shahnawaz Hussain wrote, 'Like every year, this year too, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, I offered namaz in my home district Supaul. I prayed that everyone's life should be prosperous and Bihar and the entire country should prosper. Happy Eid.' BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also offered prayers and while extending Eid-al-Adha greetings and urging citizens to uphold harmony and follow government guidelines, also remarked on the completion of one month of Operation Sindoor, stating that Pakistan, a 'territory of terrorism', must eliminate the executioners of oppression and crime who, he said, are a threat to both humanity and Islam. Speaking to reporters after offering Namaz at Imamia Hall, Shia Jama Masjid, Naqvi said that everyone should respect the government's guidelines and ensure that the spirit of unity and brotherhood is maintained across the country. 'Everyone should respect the government guidelines, and we should all take care that the thread of harmony and brotherhood does not weaken from anywhere. Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Eid al Adha...' Naqvi said. Speaking on Operation Sindoor, which has completed one month, the BJP leader said, 'Pakistan, which is the territory of terrorism, will have to sacrifice the executioners of oppression and crime. It will have to be completely wiped out because these people are a threat not only to humanity but also to Islam. The country will never accept those who are playing the role of stooges of Pakistan...' (ANI)

Nation ready to respond to Pak, mock drill is part of our preparedness: Shahnawaz Hussain

New Delhi: BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain has said that India is fully prepared to give a strong and fitting response to Pakistan in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, emphasising that the upcoming mock drill is part of national preparedness against any nefarious designs by the enemy. Speaking to IANS, Hussain stated, 'Pakistan conspired in the Pahalgam terror attack to divide us. Our country is confident in its Prime Minister, its military, and its government. The nation must stay ready. A mock drill is being conducted tomorrow so that if the enemy attempts any misadventure, we know how to respond swiftly. This mock drill is part of that preparedness. Pakistan will get a strong, strict response.' According to the Ministry of Home Affairs notification to the states, the mock drill will be held across the country's 244 Civil Defence districts on Wednesday. "The conduct of the exercise is planned up to the village level. This exercise aims to assess and enhance the readiness of Civil Defence mechanisms across all States and Union Territories," said the notice. Hussain also took aim at Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani for his recent remarks suggesting that India should not stop Pakistan's water. 'Madani should know that Pakistan has shed our blood, and yet he says we should not even stop their water? Not just water, we will stop the wind! Now, no plane can cross through the air. No trade can take place through the sea. We will also teach Pakistan a lesson on land,' Hussain said. Reacting to Congress leaders mocking the Rafale jets, Hussain accused the party of acting irresponsibly. "The Congress party is compromising national interests. After the heinous incident in Pahalgam on April 22, where people were killed based on their religion and recitation of the 'Kalma', it is clear that Pakistan's conspiracy to divide India on religious lines was thwarted by our strong response. While the Congress claims to stand with the nation, leaders like Siddaramaiah oppose war, and ministers mock the Pulwama attack and our retaliation. Ajay Rai mocked Rafale, it's the language of Pakistan. The country is angry at the Congress, and if they don't stop, the people will teach them a lesson,' he warned.

BJP slams Jamiat chief for questioning suspension of Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan

BJP's national spokesperson, Shahnawaz Hussain, slammed Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Arshad Madani for questioning the practicality of stopping river water flows to Pakistan. The BJP leader claimed that there was anger among members of the Muslim community over the Jamiat chief's statement. 'I condemn this statement. This is a very objectionable statement. Pakistan can conduct a blood bath, and we can't even stop their water? What kind of advice is this? He is saying there shouldn't be a is anger amongst the Muslim community also, for the kind of statement made by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind,' Hussain told ANI. Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Arshad Madani questioned the practicality of the Indus Waters Treaty move, saying that stopping river water flow to Pakistan won't be easy. 'If someone stops water, let them stop it... These rivers have been flowing for thousands of years, where will you take their water? It's not easy. I think the rule should be one of love and not hatred. I am a Muslim, I am spending my life here in this country, and I know that the things which are being promoted here are not suitable for the country,' Madani said. After the Centre suspended the IWT, Jal Shakti minister CR Paatil said that India would not allow a 'single drop' of water to flow into Pakistan as a retaliation against its role in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. HT reported on Monday that authorities are expected to swiftly complete all technical requirements for the proposed Sawalkot project—likely to be the largest project—on the river Chenab in Ramban and Udhampur districts of J&K. 'The plans to create additional power generation include projects that will be commissioned at Sawalkot (1,856 MW), Pakal Dul (1,000 MW), Ratle (850 MW), Bursar (800 MW), Kiru (624 MW), Kirthai 1 and 2 (1,320 MW) hydropower projects, which will be fully synchronisable with the national grid,' an official said. The project is part of plans to create nearly 12 gigawatts (GW) of additional hydropower from new projects on the Indus rivers. India also cut off water flow to Pakistan from the Baglihar dam on the Chenab River and is also preparing to taper down runoffs from the Kishanganga project on the Jhelum River. Under the IWT, Pakistan has exclusive rights to use the water of the Chenab, Jhelum, and Indus rivers, with India allowed a few exceptions.
