Bahrain's Interior Minister: ‘The Palestinian Cause Lives in All Our Hearts'
'The Palestinian cause lives in all our hearts,' said Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, adding that 'the suffering of the Palestinian people is one of the deepest sources of pain for every Arab citizen.' He made the remarks as he welcomed Palestinian Interior Minister Ziad Mahmoud Hab Al-Reeh and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain on Tuesday. The visit, he noted, plays an important role in strengthening joint security cooperation and coordination to address the region's growing security challenges. The Palestinian minister was greeted with a ceremonial Honour Guard upon his arrival at the Interior Ministry, where he was received by Shaikh Rashid, the Deputy Interior Minister, the Chief of Public Security, and several senior officials. During the meeting, Shaikh Rashid reaffirmed Bahrain's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to all efforts aimed at achieving a just, peaceful, and lasting solution. He also stressed the importance of protecting civilians, releasing hostages and detainees, and halting escalation to preserve regional security and stability. For his part, Minister Hab Al-Reeh expressed his pride in visiting Bahrain, conveying the greetings of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas 'Abu Mazen' to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised Bahrain for its honorable and steadfast stance in support of the Palestinian people. The two sides held bilateral discussions focused on strengthening security coordination, improving operational collaboration, and addressing regional and international security developments. Both ministers agreed to develop new mechanisms to enhance joint efforts.

Bahrain Blends Security with Identity
TDT | Manama The Interior Ministry is strengthening its role as a civic partner by deepening engagement with citizens while continuing to safeguard national security. In visits to Zallaq and Budaiya, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the National Plan Follow-up Committee, met with residents, listened to local concerns, and delivered greetings from the Kingdom's leadership. Residents expressed appreciation for the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and for the continued development efforts led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Identity and values The meetings were praised as an example of national unity and practical engagement. Many described them as a clear signal that the Ministry values direct input from the public in shaping national priorities. Retired Major General Abdulrahman Al-Dosari noted that the community's attachment to Bahraini customs showed an understanding of their importance. Municipal Council member Mohammed Saad Al-Dosari said the visit helped highlight issues such as youth protection and the need for more development projects. Protecting the next generation Mohammed Wajdi Al-Dosari from Al-Budaiya Club said residents raised several key concerns, including calls for upgraded public facilities and improved opportunities for young people. He noted that the Minister responded positively. Ali Faris Al-Dosari, former club president, said the visit demonstrated how the Ministry had become an active supporter of social stability in addition to its core duties. Citizenship in action Residents welcomed the visit as an affirmation of the citizen's role in the national journey. Nawaf Sabah Al-Dosari said the face-to-face exchange strengthened public trust in the government's direction. Former Deputy Governor Brigadier Isa Thamer Al-Dosari described the meetings as warm and grounded in mutual respect. Council member Hamad Al-Zoubi said continued awareness programmes were needed to support youth and preserve national values. Community partnership Nawar Al-Mutawa, Human Rights Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said these regular meetings are key to reinforcing national unity. He praised the role of security personnel in promoting values and strengthening community ties. Former MP Bader Al-Dosari said the visits reinforced the concept of partnership between the state and its people. He welcomed ongoing directives to improve services and expand development. Salman Al Ghatam from Zallaq pointed to the Interior Ministry's cooperation with local youth centres in guiding young people and encouraging positive behaviour. The visits showed how Bahrain's national identity, public security, and youth priorities are being shaped not just by policy, but through continued dialogue between citizens and those who serve them.

The visits, held in the presence of ministry officials and local leaders, spanned both the Southern and Northern Governorates and reflected the government's deepening strategy of grassroots engagement. Residents received personal greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, delivered by the Minister during the meetings. National Roots Families in both areas voiced strong pride in their Bahraini identity and praised the leadership's efforts to safeguard authentic traditions in a rapidly changing society. H.E. the Minister noted that Bahraini youth remain central to national initiatives, describing them as vital thinkers and contributors to a cohesive and resilient society. His Excellency also praised the longstanding role of Bahraini families in fostering tolerance, affection, and unity. These qualities, H.E. said, form the foundation of the Kingdom's civil peace. The meetings are part of the broader National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism. H.E. General Shaikh Rashid, who chairs the plan's ministerial follow-up committee, said community partnership is not just a concept but a practical strategy requiring active collaboration between citizens and institutions. His Excellency also thanked governorate officials for helping maintain communication and supporting development projects that align with community priorities. Enhanced interface redesign, AI-powered search, and statistical calendar launched
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the launch of new features on the Bahrain Open Data Portal ( The new features come in line with the directives of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT), to streamline access to reliable data and enriching the user journey. iGA Deputy Chief Executive of Operations & Governance Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al-Mutawa stated that these enhancements support the national efforts to boost government performance and align with the Government Plan's goals, particularly in improving data systems and accessibility. The enhancements empower decision-makers in facilitating policy and strategy development while enabling researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, and institutions to access accurate and trusted data efficiently. Key enhancements include the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve data search functionality through AI-driven search, enabling users to find relevant data faster and with greater accuracy. The portal's interface has been redesigned to improve navigation and user experience. Moreover, the new 'Statistical Reports' page allows users to view and download previous statistics in their original formats (PDF, Excel), providing more accessibility for research and analysis while supporting transparency. iGA highlighted the new 'Statistical Calendar,' which provides a schedule of upcoming data releases to help users plan their research and analysis. A 'Keyboard Navigation' feature has also been introduced, allowing users, including those with special needs, to access all portal functions using keyboard controls. The homepage now includes a responsive top banner compatible with all smart devices, displaying dynamic data visuals and links to detailed content in both languages (Arabic and English). Reflecting the iGA's commitment to public engagement, a 'User Ratings and Feedback' feature allows users to rate datasets by usefulness, accuracy, and relevance, and submit general feedback to help continuously improve data quality. The Bahrain Open Data Portal, launched by the iGA, provides unrestricted, free access to a wide range of datasets, covering topics like population, consumer prices, and more, without the need for registration. According to the latest statistics, the open data portal hosts approximately 454 datasets. Among the most accessed are population data with over 36,000 downloads, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stock data with more than 9,000, Consumer Price Index (CPI) data with over 9,000, and both the quarterly Business Confidence Index and import data with over 8,000 downloads each.

Bahrain and Pakistan Strengthen Civil Defense Cooperation
Bahrain's Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Civil Defense Council, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, welcomed the Director-General of Pakistan's Border Affairs Organization and his accompanying delegation on Sunday morning. The meeting, also attended by Deputy Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel and Public Security Chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, focused on enhancing civil protection and shelter management. General Shaikh Rashid expressed his appreciation for the close and longstanding ties between Bahrain and Pakistan, highlighting the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation, especially in emergency response and civil safety. He emphasized the importance of coordination, knowledge exchange, and adopting best practices in civil emergency management to improve readiness, ensure public safety, and enhance response to various risks. During the meeting, the Bahraini side presented its national experience in civil protection. This included Bahrain's efforts through the National Civil Protection Platform, the publication of a detailed technical guide for shelters and evacuation centers, and the launch of public awareness campaigns to promote safe behavior in emergencies. Both sides discussed mutual interests and explored ways to deepen collaboration, face emerging challenges, and build a safer environment for all.
