Scholar Muftah inspects preparations for National Program to care for Homeless in Capital Secretariat

Sana'a - Saba: The First Deputy Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Muftah, inspected the progress of preparations for the National Program for the Care and Shelter of the Homeless ("Unaccompanied Mentally Ill Persons") at the main "Al-Ihsan" Center in the Capital Secretariat. During the visit, accompanied by the Chairman of the General Zakat Authority, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, the Executive Director of the National Program for the Care and Shelter of the Homeless, Ali Al-Razami, provided an explanation of the work carried out to equip "Al-Ihsan" Center, including medical, logistical, shelter, and therapeutic facilities. Scholar Muftah and Abu Nashtan, along with officials from the Ministries of Social Affairs and Labor and Communications, reviewed the procedures followed in collecting the homeless from the streets of the Capital Secretariat, receiving them at the Al-Ihsan Center, the medical and shelter services provided to them. The First Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of the National Program for the Care of the Homeless, as well as the support of the Zakat Authority and the Ministries of Communications and Health, in preparing and operating the main "Al-Ihsan" Center as the first cornerstone of humanitarian work, which the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, gives special attention. He emphasized working according to specific plans, priorities, and objective criteria in collecting the homeless from the streets. The primary criterion targets those whose actions may pose a risk to passersby—especially children and women—or property. The second criterion includes those who have lost the ability to maintain minimal personal hygiene standards, as well as the disabled, those unable to secure their basic food , drink needs, and the elderly. Sana'a (Saba) – Guests participating in the third conference "Palestine: The Central Issue of the Nation" from the Arab world, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and North America visited the Martyr Al-Sammad Exhibition for Clothing the Poor in the capital, Sana'a. The exhibition is implemented by the General Authority for Zakat. During the visit, the visiting delegation, accompanied by Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, toured the exhibition's pavilions and listened to an explanation about the exhibition, which targets more than 75,000 beneficiaries, including the poor, needy, orphans, people with special needs, and the blind, in various districts of the capital, at a cost of 600 million riyals. The Chairman of the Authority explained that what distinguishes the exhibition is that 70 percent of the clothing on display is locally produced by productive families from the poor, funded by the Authority. Yemen's Zakat Authority launches three projects worth over 11.2 Billion Yemeni Riyals

Sana'a – SABA: The General Authority for Zakat in Yemen launched three humanitarian projects benefiting over 550,000 impoverished families, with a total cost exceeding 11.2 billion Yemeni riyals, as part of its Ramadan charity initiatives for 1446 AH. The launch took place in the presence of international guests attending the Third International Conference: "Palestine, the Central Cause of the Nation", including representatives from the Arab world, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Breakdown of the Projects: - Cash Assistance: Provided to 309,560 families, costing 6.19 billion riyals. - Zakat al-Fitr: Distributed to 214,306 families, worth 4.28 billion riyals. - In-Kind Assistance: Food packages (raisins, almonds, honey, coffee, husks, and sesame oil) for 30,000 families, valued at 750 million riyals. During the event, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, head of the Zakat Authority, welcomed the international guests, praising their support for Yemen and the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that these initiatives reflect Islamic values of compassion and solidarity, particularly in contrast to the economic pressures and blockades imposed on Yemen. Abu Nashtan highlighted that, for the seventh consecutive year, the Zakat Authority has provided in-kind food assistance to Yemen's most vulnerable, and its charitable reach has extended beyond Yemen to Palestine, Lebanon, and African communities in Yemen. The event included a poetry recitation by Egyptian poet Mohamed Alwan and a tour of the Zakat Authority's exhibition, showcasing the in-kind assistance provided.
