Boil water notice for over 3,000 Carlow customers has been lifted
Uisce Éireann issued a boil water notice as a precautionary measure for customers supplied by the Bagenalstown public water supply on Monday August 11 following the detection of in the water.
Customers impacted included those in Parc Muire, Bagenalstown town centre, Borris Road, Saint Bridget's Crescent, Father Cummins Park, Conway Park, The Long Range, Eastwood and other surrounding areas.
However, it has now been confirmed, following consultation with the HSE, that customers supplied by the Bagenalstown public water supply can now resume normal use of their water supply.
'Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the boil water notice caused,' said Uisce Éireann's Shane Alyward. 'In consultation with the HSE and following testing on the network, we are lifting the notice with immediate effect.
"The boil water notice was put in place as a precautionary measure, as protecting public health is Uisce Éireann's number one priority. We acknowledge the inconvenience caused to homes and businesses.'
