Sanjay Dutt opens up about his 'beautiful connection' with Chiranjeevi at KD teaser launch: 'He remade my 'Munna Bhai MBBS' in Telugu'

During the teaser launch event in Mumbai, the 'KGF 2' actor opened up about his admiration for Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi . According to a Telangana Today report, Dutt opened up about the bond he shares with the star and revealed, "He remade my 'Munna Bhai MBBS' in Telugu. I have a beautiful connection with him. God bless him." The 65-year-old actor was referring to Chiranjeevi's 2004 blockbuster 'Shankar Dada MBBS,' a Telugu version of 'Munna Bhai MBBS', where he was playing the iconic character Sanjay played. 'Shankar Dada MBBS' was a major commercial hit and has become a fan favourite in Telugu cinema. Sanjay Dutt embraces Tollywood The actor also shared about his growing involvement in Telugu cinema. With productions like 'The Raja Saab', where he stars with Prabhas . He also mentioned to the audience that he will be actively learning Telugu, so that he can better relate to his co-stars and let them relate to him as well as the local audiences. 'KD: The Devil' features a powerful ensemble cast, including Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist DCP Vijay Kumar Saxena, Shilpa Shetty as Satyavati, Nora Fatehi, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, and Yash Shetty. The film is set in 1970s Bangalore and promises a gritty action drama. The actor will be seen in 'The Raja Saab' releasing on December 5.

Kuberaa makers rope in Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi for a big-budget venture
Tamil-Telugu bilingual Kuberaa, which has Dhanush and Nagarjuna in the lead, has already emerged a hit over the weekend. The film, which hit theatres on June 20, has already crossed the ₹ 50 crore mark at the box office. Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi graced the film's success celebrations on Sunday and praised the team for their effort. Chiranjeevi recollected how he felt after attending a film festival in Goa. A fan of Chiranjeevi, stream his films Shankar Dada MBBS and Manchi Donga on OTTplay Premium During his speech at the event, the megastar lauded how the third-generation producers from the Narang family are making a name for themselves. Kuberaa's producer, Sunil Narang, is the son of producer and noted Nizam distributor Narayan Das Narang. Now, the third-generation member from the family, Janhvi Narang, has also joined the list and is all set to carry their legacy forward. Chiranjeevi revealed that Janhvi is the latest producer in town and stated that he has okayed a project with her, on stage. During the release of Kuberaa, the makers met Chiranjeevi, and reports surfaced that the team is planning their next with him. The actor also lauded the performance of Dhanush in the movie, saying that he was 'blown away' by the Thiruchitrambalam star. 'I am sure he will bag yet another National Award for his performance in Kuberaa,' said the veteran superstar, adding that Nagarjuna has set the path for other senior actors to take inspiration from. Sekhar Kammula to team up again with Kuberaa producers The makers of Kuberaa are also teaming with Kuberaa director Sekhar Kammula and have locked him for yet another big project under their banner. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi is now busy shooting for his latest film under the direction of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam fame, Anil Ravipudi. The movie has Nayanthara as the female lead. Once he is done with this film, he will start with Sunil Narang's next. Kuberaa is about a rich businessman (Nagarjuna) using a beggar, played by Dhanush, for his illegal activities. The film has opened to largely positive reviews.

Chiranjeevi is bored of commercial tropes and wants to break clichés, says Kona Venkat
Actor Chiranjeevi might be known for headlining commercial potboilers like Shankar Dada MBBS and Khaidi No 150 today, but there was a time when he was known for starring in concept-oriented films like Swayam Krushi and Rudraveena, making him a fan favourite. Filmmaker Kona Venkat revealed in an interview with Galatta Telugu that Chiranjeevi is tired of the same old clichés and is itching to do a 'normal character' now. Watch) When asked why Chiranjeevi is doing only commercial films now, Kona admitted that even the actor is tired of playing variations of the mass hero. He said, 'Even he feels like, how long will they cut to show a dramatic flashback? He says he can't do it anymore. He also wonders why he can't play a normal character. When will I make new films? I am bored, he says. He wants to break the cliché, break the routine. Do something out of the box. I told him, annayya (brother), you can't do out-of-the-box films, you need to do box office films.' He then pointed out that while films like Swayam Krushi give them personal satisfaction, he is also liable to ensure that his producer makes profits. 'Take Swayam Krushi (1987) for example, and other films that gave him satisfaction as an actor. What happened to them at the box office? If we can make Swayam Krushi today with a smaller budget, he'd still do it. But it'll run only in multiplexes because the mass audience will wonder why there are no action scenes or item songs.' Kona also pointed out that budgets for films have gone up significantly, with everything taking at least 150-170 days to shoot versus the usual 40 days it once took. Chiranjeevi's 2023 film Waltair Veerayya was a hit, but Bholaa Shankar failed to make a mark at the box office. He will soon star in Malladi Vassishta's Vishwambhara, which was supposed to be released in theatres for Sankranthi. He has also said yes to films by Anil Ravipudi and Srikanth Odela.
