Thudarum box office collection day 11: Mohanlal, Shobana's blockbuster beats Empuraan on second Monday, zooms past Rs 160 crore mark
Thudarum box office collection day 11: 'Go and tell your people that the rogue elephant has ventured into the wilderness again,' Shanmugham (Mohanlal) warns a cop as he sets out for the final showdown in his quest for revenge. Not just within the narrative of Thudarum, but at the box office too, Mohanlal has once again proven himself to be a rogue elephant, smashing records and leaving a trail of triumphs. Despite the revenge thriller approaching the end of its second week in theatres, it's showing no sign of slowing down. Also starring Shobana, the film registered impressive earnings on its 11th day as well. On Monday, Thudarum recorded an India nett collection of Rs 4.4 crore, taking its domestic total to Rs 74.9 crore, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk. Interestingly, this is twice the amount Mohanlal's previous outing, actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran's controversial big- budget actioner L2: Empuraan, earned on the corresponding day (Rs 1.8 crore). This is despite Thudarum debuting at just Rs 5.25 crore in the domestic market against Empuraan's whopping Rs 24.5 crore. The Tharun Moorthy directorial's global gross currently stands at Rs 160 crore, positioning it as the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time – behind Empuraan, Manjummel Boys (2024) and 2018 (2023) – and the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. With its Tamil version gearing up for release on May 9, combined with the movie's current momentum in Kerala, Thudarum has the potential to cross Empuraan's collection records of Rs 105.25 crore (India nett) and Rs 265.5 crore (worldwide), considering that the movie has been performing well overseas too, minting Rs 78 crore so far. Watch Thudarum trailer here: On Monday, during which it witnessed a 41.33 per cent dip in its domestic earnings compared to Sunday (Rs 7.5 crore), Thudarum recorded an overall occupancy of 54.31 per cent in the Malayalam market. While the morning shows commenced with 30.93 per cent occupancy, the rate improved drastically as the day unfolded, reaching 51.66 per cent during the afternoon shows, 65.75 per cent during the evening screenings and 68.90 per cent at night.
