Man appears in court charged with Shara Miller's murder

Man charged with murder after woman's body found
A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at an industrial estate in Smethwick. Shara Miller, aged 41, was found off Woodburn Road just after 06:10 BST on Monday and confirmed dead at the scene. Police said a forensic post mortem had revealed that she died as a result of strangulation. West Midlands Police said Tanveer Singh, 31, from West Bromwich, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Ms Miller's murder on Wednesday evening. He has been remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Thursday. Two other men have been released with no further action. The force said they believed Ms Miller had been killed in the early hours of the morning at the location where her body was discovered. West Midlands Police is continuing to ask the public for any information surrounding her movements before 01:00 BST. Det Ch Insp Alastair Orencas said: "This charge is a significant development in our investigation which remains very much ongoing. "Our focus is on getting justice for Shara and her loved ones, and it's important that anyone with information which could help us comes forward. "We've been carrying out enquiries in and around Soho Road, Birmingham, where it's understood she was involved in sex work, and we really want to hear from anyone who may have seen Shara on Sunday evening or early Monday morning." Tributes to 'beautiful angel' found dead in Smethwick as three men arrested
Tributes have been paid to a woman who was tragically found dead in the Black Country. Shara Miller was discovered on Woodbourn Road in Smethwick just after 6am on Monday, August 11. The 41-year-old, who police believe was a sex worker, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her loved ones are being supported by specially trained officers, police said. And following the tragedy, tributes to Shara have been posted on social media. Marie Guerin said: "Beautiful angel. Life cut too soon, hope [her] family find justice" Michaela Louise Watson wrote: "Shara was a childhood friend of mine, she faced many struggles, she does not deserve this, feel so sad for her mum and brothers." Toni Sul added: "Nobody deserves to die like this." "I feel so sad for her family and her friends. I hope whoever did this gets done for life and I mean life not this woke justice we have !! Rest in peace" KN Macnoodle posted: "Rip young lady fly high amongst the angels my thoughts are with her loved ones xx" Maria Pittaway wrote: "So sad may she rest in peace my heart goes out to her family and friends." Heather Obinna said:"Rest peacefully dear, you didn't deserve this. I pray justice will be served." Following her death, West Midlands Police appealed for anyone with information about her movements before 1am on the day she died to come forward. Det Ch Insp, Alastair Orencas, said: "We have made some significant progress in our investigation and now have three men in custody. "However, we still want to hear from anyone who saw Shara or spoke to her in the hours leading up to her death. "We understand she was involved in sex work around the Soho Road, Birmingham area and believe she may have been driven to Woodburn Road from that location. "If you have any footage or information, and haven't yet come forward, please contact us." A spokesperson for the force added on Tuesday, August 12: "Three men have been arrested after a woman was found dead in Smethwick yesterday morning (11 Aug). "Shara Miller, aged 41, was found off Woodbourn Road just after 6.10am. Tragically, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene. "Her loved ones are being supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts are with them at this awful time. "Following enquiries, three men, aged 29, 38 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of murder. "They remain in custody for questioning. "We believe Shara was killed in the early hours of the morning at the location where her body was discovered. "We are asking the public for any information surrounding her movements before 1am. "Officers are increasing patrols in the area where Shara was found and around Soho Road as reassurance so please do speak to us about any concerns.
