Praise for police efforts and strategic development His Highness praised the efforts of Sharjah's police personnel for ensuring community safety and security. He commended the integrated work and strategic modernisation of the Sharjah Police General Command in line with leadership aspirations. Acknowledgment in the Golden Book His Highness wrote in the Golden Book of Distinguished Visitors, expressing his appreciation for the round-the-clock dedication of police personnel and the use of advanced technologies and systems to serve the citizens and guests of Sharjah. Strategic framework presentation He viewed a visual presentation on the Sharjah Police General Command's strategic direction and the 2024–2027 framework. Key goals included enhancing security, traffic safety, crisis preparedness, community partnerships, customer service, and innovation. Community survey results His Highness was briefed on public survey results, which showed 99.7% felt safe in the community, 97% community confidence in Sharjah Police, and 96.7% confidence in police stations. Awareness campaigns and outreach efforts He observed the Command's initiatives to address community issues, which included 17 traffic awareness campaigns and 151 anti-drug awareness programmes. High customer satisfaction and leadership initiatives His Highness rviewed the customer satisfaction rate of 97.8% and was informed about progress in digital transformation, intellectual property, employee satisfaction, and strategic partnerships. Tour of the Operations Department facilities The Deputy Ruler toured the Operations Department, equipped with AI-based systems to manage security reports and tasks. He also learned about network integration with traffic cameras across the emirate. Reports Management Centre overview His Highness received a detailed briefing on the Reports Management Centre, including 999 emergency report platforms, 24/7 monitoring systems, patrol coordination platforms, and early warning systems for gold and money exchange stores. Visit to 901 Call Management Centre He was introduced to the 901 Call Management Centre, which handles non-emergency inquiries and enhances communication between police and the public. Simulation rooms for police training The tour concluded with a visit to simulation rooms designed to train police personnel in managing real-time reports effectively. Accompanying delegation His Highness was accompanied by Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office; Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; and several senior officers and police leaders.

Sharjah Police honour top high school students, grant them free driving licenses
The Sharjah Police honoured the top high school students of 2025 in a festive atmosphere filled with pride and honour. In a ceremony organised by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department of the Sharjah Police General Command, the students were granted a free driving licence within the 'Excellence Licence' initiative. Present were Brigadier Jassim bin Hadda, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Operations and Security Support, and Brigadier Khalid Mohammed Al Kay, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, along with representatives of strategic partners (The Sharjah Driving Institute and the Belhasa Institute). During the ceremony, students were briefed about the services and programmes offered by the centres participating in the 'Excellence Licence' initiative, which has been widely welcomed by students and their families due to the moral and practical support it provides. Additionally, it enhances their sense of accomplishment and social responsibility. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the top students in recognition of their achievements and their efforts throughout the academic year, in the presence of their families. Thanks and gratitude were also extended to the parents, who played a significant part in supporting and motivating their children to achieve this distinction. The honoured students and their families expressed their gratitude for this recognition, noting that these supportive initiatives provide additional incentives to excel and help establish a culture of excellence in Emirati society.

SEC regulates auction sale of special vehicle number plates
Government Performance Review The meeting discussed several agenda topics focused on monitoring the performance of government departments and entities, and developing the legislative framework to enhance government work and achieve integration across sectors in service of the community. Municipal Session Adjournment The council decided to conclude the first regular session of the twentieth annual term for municipal councils in the Emirate of Sharjah, with the session officially ending on Thursday, 8 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to July 3, 2025. During the period between sessions, the general committees of the municipal councils will continue handling their respective affairs. Vehicle Plate Auction The council has also implemented a decision to regulate the auction sale of special vehicle number plates in the Emirate of Sharjah. This regulation relates to plates designated by the Sharjah Police General Command. Under this decision, the Sharjah Police will organise and supervise the auctions, establish conditions and regulations, specify plate numbers and category codes, contract with specialised companies, and manage any additional tasks assigned by the Executive Council. Investment Funds Properties The decision stipulated that licensed investment funds registered with the Securities and Commodities Authority and listed in the investment funds register have the right to own and use real estate in the emirate in accordance with the regulations set forth in this decision, as follows: investment funds that are fully owned by UAE citizens or GCC nationals, as well as public investment funds, have the right to own real estate in all areas of the emirate and to use real estate in projects approved for usufruct sale. investment funds that include units owned by non-UAE citizens and non-GCC nationals have the right to own real estate in projects approved for sale to foreigners and to use real estate in projects approved for usufruct sale. Legal Provisions Included The decision also includes legal articles concerning ownership and usufruct conditions, investment fund registry, powers of the Real Estate Registration Department, fees, data updates, suspension of fund transactions, and trading of private fund units.

Sharjah Police announced it seized more than 1,200 kg of narcotics worth more than AED 279 million and arrested 680 suspects in 2024. The authority also said it blocked 680 websites promoting narcotics, and launched two operations aimed at curbing drug distribution this year, with around 350 million narcotic pills seized. The Police, at the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking forum, emphasized that the UAE "does not leave the fight against the drug epidemic to chance' but addresses it through firm determination to achieve 'comprehensive prevention" and protection of the nation's citizens. During his speech at the forum, Colonel Majid Al-Asam highlighted the importance of joint action to combat this scourge, emphasizing that combating drugs is a national responsibility that cannot be taken lightly. He explained that coordination with relevant authorities has yielded tangible results in 2024, with the effectiveness of Sharjah Police General Command's efforts in combating drugs reaching 91.2 per cent, according to reports from the Department of Statistics and Community Development. Colonel Al-Asam called on young people to "adhere to their values and capabilities and to avoid such destructive behaviors," emphasizing that combating drugs begins with awareness.
