'Prevention and Safety' targets forty high-rise buildings

Campaign targets 40 towers The campaign targets 40 towers in the Emirate that are taller than 23 metres, with the goal of raising awareness about the newly issued High-Rise Building Safety Guide. The announcement was delivered at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah. In an exclusive statement to 'Sharjah 24,' Dr Al Quraidi noted that the guidance is intended for buildings taller than 23 metres, as such projects require specialised safety procedures that adhere to the highest international standards. The document specifies precise requirements for evacuation plans, fire prevention systems, and preventative maintenance routines, all of which are intended to protect lives and property. To improve the safety of people in high-rise buildings She went on to say that the major goal is to improve the safety of people in high-rise buildings and their general quality of life. Dr Al Quraidi stated that the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority will continue to monitor the towers' compliance with the requirements in collaboration with Sharjah Civil Defence Authority and SANED. This initiative contributes to the creation of a safe and sustainable living environment in Sharjah.

AI Fire Detection System Introduced Across Sharjah's Buildings

The new initiative will use AI to monitor commercial and residential buildings 24/7 and reduce fire-related risks. Apr 10, 2025 An advanced fire prevention system powered by artificial intelligence (AI) is being rolled out across Sharjah, aiming to monitor and detect fire hazards in buildings across the emirate. The initiative, launched by the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, will use AI to provide 24-hour surveillance and early fire detection in both commercial and residential structures. The smart fire detection system is designed to analyse building conditions in real time and issue alerts at the first sign of danger. This shift toward AI-driven safety reflects the emirate's move from reactive fire response to proactive fire prevention. The technology will be integrated into building infrastructure, reducing the risk of fire-related casualties and damage while ensuring faster emergency response. This development is part of a broader directive by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to adopt international best practices in safety and smart infrastructure. Authorities say the system will strengthen Sharjah's emergency readiness and enhance overall safety levels across its urban and suburban areas.
