In an exclusive statement to 'Sharjah 24,' Dr Al Quraidi noted that the guidance is intended for buildings taller than 23 metres, as such projects require specialised safety procedures that adhere to the highest international standards. The document specifies precise requirements for evacuation plans, fire prevention systems, and preventative maintenance routines, all of which are intended to protect lives and property. The smart fire detection system is designed to analyse building conditions in real time and issue alerts at the first sign of danger. This shift toward AI-driven safety reflects the emirate's move from reactive fire response to proactive fire prevention. The technology will be integrated into building infrastructure, reducing the risk of fire-related casualties and damage while ensuring faster emergency response. This development is part of a broader directive by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to adopt international best practices in safety and smart infrastructure. Authorities say the system will strengthen Sharjah's emergency readiness and enhance overall safety levels across its urban and suburban areas.
