Jacksonville Sharks lose two in a row
The Jacksonville Sharks have lost two in a row after a fast start to the Indoor Football League season. The Sharks lost to unbeaten Quad City on Saturday night 61-42. Jacksonville trailed in the first half multiple times by double digits but a Kaleb Barker to Jaedon Stoshak touchdown made it 21-18 in the second quarter. Jacksonville Sharks end undefeated streak with loss at home
The Jacksonville Sharks suffered their first loss of the season Saturday night at home, falling 42-35 to the Massachusetts Pirates. The Sharks opened the first quarter scoring with a Kaleb Barker to Tyler King touchdown pass, but the Pirates scored the next two times to set the tone. Advertisement The Sharks did regain the lead on a field goal in the second quarter, but that would be Jacksonville's last lead of the game. They were playing catch-up on the scoreboard most of the night. In the third quarter, Tyler King had to leave the game with an injury. King was hit on a helmet-to-helmet play in the second half. In the fourth, the Sharks' defense came up with a fumble recovery, but the offense couldn't capitalize. After a Barker sack and another interception by Floyd, the Pirates added a field goal to make it 42-29. Still fighting, Jacksonville made one final push. Barker found Jaden Stoshak for a touchdown, bringing the Sharks within seven. But time ran out on the comeback attempt, and the Pirates held on for a 42-35 win. Advertisement The Sharks are now 3-1 this season, while the Pirates improved to 2-2. Jacksonville will look to bounce back against the undefeated Quad City Steamwheelers on the road next Saturday, April 26th. UNF's first football game: Jacksonville Sharks become Ospreys for a night
The Jacksonville Sharks are becoming the UNF Ospreys for a night. The Indoor Football League team will share the Ospreys moniker on Saturday night as they host Massachusetts, and it will be celebrated as UNF's first football game ever. The University of North Florida doesn't have a football team, so the school and the Sharks partnered up for this promotion. Advertisement Jacksonville is 3-0 on the young season and will try to beat Massachusetts for the second time this season. On Friday's Brent & Austen Show, Ka'Ron Ashley joined the guys to talk about life in the IFL and playing pro football back home in Jacksonville. Jacksonville Sharks undefeated, return home Saturday
The Jacksonville Sharks continued their undefeated start to the season on Saturday night in Tuscon with a 28-21 win over the Sugar Skulls. The Sharks have won two of their first three games on the road and they continue to use a stingy defense to key their wins. Jacksonville has allowed only 65 points combined in three games. On Saturday against Tuscon, the Sharks allowed only 55 net yards passing and had four interceptions, including one at the goal line to seal the win late in the game. Jonathan Huggins came up with the big play to help bring home the third victory. Advertisement Now, the Sharks will play at home on Saturday night, and it will be a historic event. The Sharks have partnered with the University of North Florida Ospreys to play the first football game in the college's history.
