Arrest warrant for woman accused of fleeing Cowes crash scene

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 27-year-old woman from Kent who is accused of failing to stop at the scene of a crash on the Isle of Wight. Sharley Coster, of Silverhurst Drive, Tonbridge, was due to appear before IW Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 8, to face three driving-related charges. The court heard that Ms Coster did not attend the scheduled hearing. In response, magistrates issued a warrant for her arrest, which is backed for bail. It is alleged that a Jeep, reportedly being driven by Ms Coster, was involved in a collision with a Nissan Qashqai. Police confirmed at the time that no injuries were reported. The Jeep involved did not remain at the scene, but officers later located the vehicle in Binstead a few hours later, according to police statements made at the time. Ms Coster is accused of the following offences: Failing to stop after a road accident Driving without due care and attention Failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required A new court date has been set for August 29, when Ms Coster is expected to attend and submit her pleas.
