Freak accident: Man dies after damaged railing falls on him

Lucknow: A Sitapur-based NGO worker, in his 30s, died on Wednesday after a damaged railing fell from the fifth floor of a multi-storey building in the Hussainganj area. The deceased, identified as Shashi Gaurav Srivastava, hailed from Kaithi Tola in Biswan, Sitapur, and ran a non-governmental organisation. On Wednesday, he came to the Vikas Deep building in Hussainganj with his friend, Amrendra Kumar, a resident of Jankipuram, for some work. According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 pm after Shashi finished his work and was waiting on the ground floor of the building while his friend went to retrieve their scooter from the parking area.
