Bangladesh umpire Shathira Jakir Jessy set for historic Women's World Cup stint

Former cricketer Shathira Jakir Jessy is set to make history as the first Bangladeshi woman umpire to officiate in a senior World Cup. The 34-year-old will reach this milestone at the Women's ODI World Cup, which will be held in India starting September has previously officiated at several prestigious events, including the Under-19 Asia Cup, the Under-19 T20 World Cup in Malaysia, and the Women's ODI World Cup Qualifiers earlier this year in Pakistan. She also umpired during the Bangladesh Emerging Team's home series against South addition, Jessy officiated in the Women's Asia Cup last year, where she was part of the umpiring team for the final between India and Sri Lanka.
