Key Bangladesh pacer provides important update on fitness

Bangladesh recently announced that former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait will join the Asian side as their new fast bowling coach , with the 2007 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup winner replacing the outgoing Andre Adams on a contract that runs until November 2027. Tait was renowned for bowling with express pace and Taskin is keen to lean on the knowledge of the Australian ahead of next year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. "He (Tait) was a very good fast bowler and played a lot for Australia. The best part is, we have a lot of T20 cricket this year and he played T20s in the modern era and has experience in major T20 events," he said. "He must have some good insights into the game and hopefully, his experience will help us. "When you're in the national setup, a coach can help with game awareness and some technical aspects, but bowlers mostly have to coach themselves. "However, when you have a big personality like Tait around, things become easier and hopefully his inclusion will benefit us."

Australia's Tait named Bangladesh pace bowling coach

Australia's Shaun Tait has been named Bangladesh's new pace bowling coach, the country's cricket board said Monday. The 42-year-old Tait, who played 59 internationals for Australia between 2005-2016, replaces former New Zealander Andre Adams who had joined last year. "It's a good time to be involved with the Bangladesh cricket team right now, a bit of a new era if you like," Tait was quoted as saying in a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media release. "This is international cricket, not a development team, and everyone expects the talent to bring results, which is very much my focus with the fast bowling group." Tait will start his new role later this month, and his contract runs until November 2027, the BCB said. Before joining Bangladesh, Tait linked up with teams including the West Indies, Pakistan and Afghanistan. He also has worked with clubs in franchise leagues around the globe.

Shaun Tait Appointed Bangladesh Pace Bowling Coach Till 2027

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as the national team's pace bowling coach until November 2027. The 42-year-old replaces Andre Adams, who parted ways with the team after a brief and underwhelming stint. Tait brings with him a wealth of experience both as a former international cricketer and as a bowling coach. A member of Australia's 2007 World Cup-winning squad, Tait played 59 international matches across formats and picked up 95 wickets with his express pace and raw aggression. In his coaching journey, he has previously worked with Pakistan, West Indies and Afghanistan, gaining valuable insights across cricketing cultures.

Ravi Bopara, Shaun Tait arrive in Karachi as Kings begin HBL PSL preparations

Karachi Kings head coach Ravi Bopara and assistant bowling coach Shaun Tait landed in Karachi on Monday as the franchise kicked off preparations for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to begin on April 11. Bopara and Tait, confirmed earlier this year as part of the Kings' revamped coaching staff, joined the squad ahead of their opening match on April 12 against Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium. The Kings will begin training today at 5 PM at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre, based at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi. Alongside the coaching arrivals, key national players including Hasan Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Arafat Minhas have also reported to camp as the 2020 champions aim to mount a strong campaign in HBL PSL 10. Ravi Bopara, a former England all-rounder, is no stranger to the PSL. He represented Karachi Kings in 31 matches between 2016 and 2018 before brief stints with Multan Sultans in 2020 and Peshawar Zalmi in 2021. The 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League will feature six teams and 34 matches, running from April 11 to May 18. The tournament will open with defending champions Islamabad United taking on Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Karachi Kings will play their first match a day later on home soil. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium is set to host 13 matches, including both eliminators and the final.
