Limpopo spinners gear up for Red Bull showdown
POLOKWANE – The Durban crowd is in for high-octane action that goes beyond the track at this year's Red Bull Shay' iMoto, taking place on August 10 at Suncoast Casino. Sixteen drivers will go tyre-to-tyre in this spinning showdown. Limpopo will be proudly represented by professional car spinners Zameer 'Lockdiff' Cassim from Nirvana, Sam 'Makgasafire' Kgwahla from Mankweng and Zwikhodo 'Ziko' Nembambula from Venda. In the lead-up to the event, the Red Bull Shay' iMoto static display car made its way through Durban, grabbing the attention of curious locals. One of its stops included Umlazi, where it drew crowds at Fresh Stop Mega City and Max's Lifestyle. Each driver brings a unique story to the tarmac. Some are third-generation spinners, continuing a legacy passed down through their families. Others are rising stars who first felt the thrill at previous Shay' iMoto events. Joining Limpopo's trio in the top 16 are well-known names like Boksie, Jabu, Magesh Junior, Robin Fortuin, Sadz – Flyboxin, Skopas/Bad Company, Team 2xspicy JZ, Team Kayla, Team Nevs, Team Osizweni, Team VQ25 and Vaaitjie. Durban to host its first Shay iMoto spinning festival
Motorsport fans in Durban will be pleased to know that Red Bull is bringing their prestigious Shay' iMoto spinning event to the city in August at the Suncoast Casino. Petrolheads, car enthusiasts and hardcore spin fans will have the opportunity to witness the country's best spinning artists painting their masterpieces on thde Durban tarmac. From King Katra and Sam Sam to Panjaro Kruger and reigning champion Chadwin 'Boksie' Hadjie, the city will play host to spinning royalty this winter. The cooler conditions in August, combined with Durban's coastal location, are set to enhance vehicle performance. Most spinning cars used in the scene today are naturally aspirated, and these engines benefit significantly from the oxygen-rich atmosphere at sea level, as more oxygen improves combustion efficiency — giving performance cars more 'juice'.
