Quran memorisation competition in Al Dhahirah concludes

Ibri: The competitions of the Quran memorisation contest held across schools in Al Dhahirah Governorate for various grade levels concluded on Monday, as part of ongoing efforts to promote Quranic learning values and instill them in the hearts of the youth. The closing ceremony featured a review of the contest's activities and accompanying events throughout the current academic year, along with Quranic recitations by students from different educational stages and choral performances highlighting the importance of memorising the Holy Quran and its role in nurturing future generations. This year's competitions saw the participation of 444 male and female students, with 255 evaluated in the general memorisation contest, 160 in the recitation competition, and 29 in the categories for students with intellectual and hearing disabilities. The competition results revealed that 65 students secured the top three positions, including 30 in the general memorisation contest, 19 in the recitation and melodious voice competition, 8 in the intellectual disability category, and 8 in the hearing disability category. Among the winners, 22 students achieved first place in various competition levels, qualifying them for the final qualifying rounds at the Sultanate of Oman level. The ceremony concluded with Sheikh Dr. Said Humaid Al Harthy, Wali of Ibri, the chief guest, honouring the winning students in the presence of educators and parents.
