This Is How Ishita Ganguly Is Doing Her Bit For The Environment And So Can You
Ishita Ganguly shares the small, meaningful habits she follows that contribute to the environment. The world came together to mark Environment Day on June 5, with people taking small yet meaningful steps from planting trees to promoting eco-friendly habits, to protect the planet. Joining the cause were the lead actors of Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain—Diksha Dhami, Sheel Verma, and Ishita Ganguly, who took a break from their packed shooting schedule to participate in a special plantation drive near their set. The initiative served as a heartfelt tribute to Mother Earth, as each actor planted saplings and pledged to continue making sustainable choices for a greener tomorrow. Speaking to IANS, actress Ishita Ganguly, who plays the role of Chamkili in the show, shared her experience, saying, 'For me, Environment Day is not just about one day, it's about every little choice we make every single day." She added, 'Planting those saplings around our set felt really special. I've always found peace in nature – the sound of rustling leaves, the scent of wet soil after rain, or just watching the sky change colours at sunset. Nature grounds me and reminds me what truly matters." In the same conversation, Ishita highlighted the small, meaningful habits she follows that somehow contribute to the environment. Ishita said, 'To avoid future problems, I carry my own water bottle, avoid plastic, reuse what I can, and plant at least one sapling every year. These might seem like small things, but they make a big difference when done with intention." Reflecting on the healing power of nature, the actress said, 'We often look for magic in big achievements or faraway places, but honestly, the Earth is the real magician. It heals our body and soul in its unique ways. If we don't protect this magic now, we might lose it forever. I want to keep walking barefoot on soft grass, keep watching butterflies flutter around flowers, and keep breathing in fresh, clean air. Let's not wait for a miracle – let's be the miracle for Mother Earth. Happy Environment Day!" Coming to Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain, the show airs every Monday to Saturday at 9:00 PM on Shemaroo Umang. With its engaging storyline, impressive cast and high production values, it has quickly become a viewer favourite. Set against the regal backdrop of a grand haveli, the show delves into themes of love, power, societal expectations and the personal struggles of its characters. Besides Diksha, Sheel, and Ishita Ganguly, the sitcom also features Ektaa BP Singh and Gaurav Savita in the lead roles. First Published: June 06, 2025, 18:20 IST

Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain's Sheel Verma Love For Mumbai Rains Is All Of Us
Last Updated: As the city of dreams recently witnessed a spell of rainfall, actor Sheel Verma revealed what he loves about Mumbai rains. The arrival of rain adds a unique appeal to Mumbai. It turns the city into a lush, vibrant landscape, with the refreshing rains wiping away the heat and dust and revealing a different aspect of its beauty. As the city of dreams recently witnessed a spell of rainfall, the cool breeze and the scent of wet earth brought instant relief to many residents, including actor Sheel Verma, known for playing Jaiveer in the show Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain. Expressing his love for this season, Sheel said, 'I enjoy rains and the earthy fragrance that comes after the first rainfall; it's something I always look forward to. Yesterday, on my way home from a shoot, it began to rain, so I took a longer route with my favourite music playing in the car," as quoted by Filmibeat. He added, 'In the morning, the sun was back, so I had no expectations. But, surprisingly, it started raining again – and it's times like this when I happily ignore my diet. I got myself a nice cup of tea and ordered some samosas – the ideal way to enjoy the beautiful weather. As they say in the film Wake Up Sid, 'Mumbai rains are absolutely to die for' – and I couldn't agree more." On the work front, Sheel is currently winning hearts with his performance as Jaiveer. In the television series, his character often gets duped by Chamkili (played by Ishita Ganguly), while his wife Chaina (played by Diksha Dhami) acts as his keeper, shielding him and his family from danger. Previously, speaking about being a part of the show, Sheel said, 'This is my first time playing the lead in a television show. So far, I'm really liking it. I've worked in films before, but having a major role on television is unique and fascinating." 'Jaiveer, the character I play in the show, is someone with whom I have a personal connection, and I am thoroughly enjoying portraying him. Jaiveer is a vibrant, cheery person, yet his rough background has left him short-tempered. This contrast makes the character accessible to me," he added, as quoted by ETimesTV. The show airs from Monday to Saturday at 9 pm on Shemaroo Umang. First Published:

As an actor, being in the spotlight means that people often look up to you for fashion inspiration — whether it's on-screen glamour or off-screen casual charm. Diksha Dhami , who plays the lead role of Chaina in Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain , understands this well. Known for her effortless style, Diksha shares how you can keep it casual and still stand out, along with her personal fashion mantra. Speaking about fashion and style, she says, 'I've come a long way. From wearing simple kurtis in college to slowly creating my own unique style, it's been quite a journey. Initially, I wasn't too into fashion, but ever since I entered the acting world, I've started experimenting with different looks — and I truly love it. For me, fashion has become a way to express confidence. I even have my own style mantra : wear what makes you feel good and comfortable, and don't be afraid to mix things up. Don't just follow trends — create your own.' She further adds, 'I love wearing clothes that truly feel like me — stylish, and fun. I've even organized my wardrobe according to the seasons. Since it's summer right now, I prefer cotton clothes , oversized tees , and baggy jeans. They're easy to wear, breathable, and just perfect for the heat. But when it's time to dress up, I go all out in traditional wear . There's something really special and magical about wearing Indian outfits , especially during festivals and special occasions.' Diksha also shared her love for her character's outfit: 'I adore the Rajasthani look I have in my current show on Shemaroo Umang, Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain. The vibrant colours, the maang tikka, and those pretty juttis make me feel so royal. I'd love to take a few of those pieces home with me!'
