Career fair in Silver Spring draws hundreds
SILVER SPRING, Md. () — A large crowd filled the Silver Spring Civic Building Wednesday for the opportunity to connect with dozens of potential employers.
The Maryland State and Local Government Career Fair offered hundreds of people the chance to meet representatives from state and local governements as well as those working for private companies.
The event provided people tools and resources to help them navigate their career transition or job search, networking opportunities with hiring managers, and moments to interact with other professionals.
The fair featured career coaching, résumé feedback, and guidance on how people could market their skills effectively. Additonally, workshops and discussions touched on how to manage the stress of career transitions and job loss.
DC News Now's Shennekia Grimshaw emceed the event, and DC News Now hiring managers were there to represent it and Nexstar Media Group, DC News Now's parent company.
