Victorville woman struck and killed by alleged DUI driver identified
Authorities have released the identity of a Victorville woman was struck and killed by an allegedly intoxicated driver earlier this week. Shareece Jones, 49, died at a hospital shortly after Tuesday's collision, which took place about 9 p.m. at Reno Loop Road and Sorrel Way, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's officials. She was on foot when she was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban being driven by a 50-year-old Barstow man, sheriff's officials said. The circumstances of the collision were not available. Paramedics took Jones to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in Victorville, where she succumbed to her injuries. Deputies determined the SUV driver, identified as George Batiste Thenarse, was intoxicated and arrested him on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Potential criminal charges were pending. Suspects wanted for fleeing hit-and-run crash in San Bernardino County
Authorities are searching for two men who fled the scene of a crash that left a man injured in San Bernardino County. On April 29, authorities responded to the intersection of Apatite Avenue and Sequoia Street in Hesperia around 7:19 p.m. The victim, a 25-year-old man, was driving a Toyota Camry west on Sequoia Street when the suspects' oncoming Audi ran a stop sign and crashed into the victim's car. Both suspects jumped out of their car and fled the scene without stopping to check on the injured victim. The hit-and-run suspects were described by deputies as Hispanic males. Their images were captured by nearby surveillance cameras. 2 teens arrested for armed robberies in San Bernardino County
Two teen suspects were arrested for allegedly robbing victims at gunpoint in San Bernardino County Friday. Deputies from the Victorville station responded to a robbery at a business on the 15200 block of Hook Boulevard in Victorville at 3:13 p.m. Three teenage boys had reportedly entered the business and held the victim at gunpoint. They took the victim's cell phone before fleeing the scene. A second victim reported they were also robbed at gunpoint at the intersection of Hook Boulevard and Arlette Drive by three male juveniles. The descriptions of the trio matched the previous robbery report, deputies said. Authorities began searching the area and later spotted the suspects in a dirt field. They attempted to flee, but deputies successfully captured two of them, identified only as a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. A third suspect, however, managed to escape. Deputies found a loaded Polymer-80 handgun with an extended magazine during the arrests. The 15-year-old was arrested for: Robbery Criminal conspiracy Assault with a deadly weapon Criminal threats Carrying a loaded firearm for which he was not the registered owner Possession of a large capacity magazine Carrying a concealed weapon The 16-year-old was arrested for robbery, assault on a public official, and criminal conspiracy. They were booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center in Apple Valley. No further details were released as the case remains under investigation. 2 dead in ‘reckless' crash in Apple Valley
A Victorville man and a boy were killed in a high-speed crash that occurred after the man reportedly drove recklessly. Just after midnight on Wednesday morning, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies spotted 'a reckless driver' behind the wheel of a black 2013 Dodge Charger in Apple Valley, authorities said in a news release. Deputies briefly lost sight of the vehicle, finding it again only after it had crashed into a power pole along Central Road near the intersection with Walpi Road. The speeding driver, 32-year-old Jimmy Terriquez, was headed north on Central Road when 'the vehicle left the roadway' and hit the pole, officials said without disclosing what caused the car to leave the road. Both Terriquez and a boy were declared dead at the scene. The boy's name, age and relation to Terriquez have not been disclosed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy T. Man fatally struck by car along Amargosa Road in Victorville
A man died after being struck by a car along Amargosa Road in Victorville on Monday evening, authorities said. The collision took place about 7:45 p.m. at Amargosa and Gabriel roads, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. "Through investigation, it was determined a grey Honda Sedan struck a pedestrian in the roadway," the sheriff's department said in a written statement. "The male victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene." His identity was not released pending notification of family by coroner's officials. Officials said the involved driver remained at the scene. Amargosa Road was shut down for about four hours to accommodate the investigation. No further details were available..
