Polokwane karate students prepare for grading after training camp
POLOKWANE – The Oyama School of Karate (OSK) recently hosted a two-day gashuku (training camp) at the Ngoako Ramahlodi Indoor Sports Complex, bringing together karate enthusiasts from across the region. The event was attended by over 80 people, including students, parents and instructors.
Guest of honour, Shihan Simphiwe Dlulane, country representative and international adviser of the KyokushinKan Organisation, led the training sessions.
The gashuku focused on preparing students and instructors for the upcoming Kyu Grading on May 17 in Seshego.
In a special ceremony, two OSK instructors, sensei Peter Malatji and sempai Cuba Makgoka, were awarded their black belt certificates and cards after successfully passing their dan grading in KwaZulu-Natal in December.
Makgoka's emotional speech thanked his parents and instructors for introducing him to karate.
The event concluded with Malatji placing the black belt on Makgoka's waist, signifying the pride in the student's dedication.
OSK operates in Polokwane and Seshego, offering karate training throughout the week
