"Assam's #ShikshaSetu was today awarded the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji. This single-point solution has streamlined student and teacher attendance and brought uniformity across schools in Assam. Congratulations to the entire team of @Samagra_Assam on achieving this feat," CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on 'X'.
Over three lakh duplicates (ghost students) were removed after the implementation of Shiksha Setu Axom, which is used for accurate student data compilation, officials said. It has also helped to stop unauthorised leaves of teachers. Keeping an eye on the attendance of teachers and students is among the most important aspects of this AI-based platform available in the form of a mobile app.
According to official records, more than Rs 100 crore were saved yearly on student schemes after the app was introduced. "This national recognition on Civil Services Day is a proud moment for Assam, earned in the context of revolutionising educational administration by saving taxpayers' expense and making systems smoother than ever," said education minister Ranoj Pegu.
