Shaping future of students collective responsibility: CM
Puttaparthi: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday stated that the responsibility of shaping a child's future lies not just with schools, but with every stakeholder - teachers, parents, and the state alike. It is a collective responsibility, he added. Attending the second edition of the mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM 2.0) at the Zilla Parishad High School in Kothacheruvu in the district, the Chief Minister gave priority to spend time with students, interacting with them. Schools, he said, are the 'modern-day temples' of society - and it is the duty of every citizen to safeguard and strengthen them. Organised on the occasion of Guru Pournima, the PTM 2.0 brought together an unprecedented 2.28 crore participants across 61,000 institutions - an event the CM suggested may well qualify for global records. Reflecting on the previous year's success when the first PTM was held across 44,000 government schools, the Chief Minister noted that this year's effort included private schools too - a testament to the inclusive vision of the government. He cited examples like Nellore, where government school seats were full with 'No Vacancy' boards, as a sign of rising trust in public education. Further, Naidu praised the 'Shining Stars Awards' to recognize high-performing students, with plans to ensure they receive admission into colleges of their choice. These steps reflect a long-term vision to prepare students for the knowledge-driven future that lies ahead, he added. Reaffirming the government's commitment to strengthening the teaching workforce, the Chief Minister recalled that one of the coalition government's first decisions was to sign on a Mega DSC to fill 16,347 teacher posts. All selected candidates are expected to complete training and report to their schools by August. He said that under his leadership, Andhra Pradesh has conducted 12 DSC recruitments, appointing a total of 1.66 lakh teachers- a stark contrast to the previous administration, which failed to issue even a single notification in five years. He criticised the former regime for causing unnecessary confusion with promises like TOEFL coaching and IB syllabi, none of which were fulfilled. In contrast, the current government has ensured transparent teacher transfers and is open to continuous suggestions from both parents and educators to improve the system, he added. Speaking on the occasion, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, reflecting on his own school days, credited his mother Bhuvaneshwari's dedication for his academic progress, drawing a deeply personal connection to the broader mission grounded in family, duty, and public service. The Chief Minister talked about Lokesh's steadfast commitment to revamping government schools and delivering world-class learning to students across Andhra Pradesh. Having studied at some of the best institutions globally, Lokesh has chosen to dedicate his expertise to transforming public education in the state, he said. The coalition government, with a strong focus on excellence, is working to elevate government schools to compete confidently with private institutions, he added.

‘Shining Stars' awards presented to top students in Tirupati, Chittoor
Tirupati / Chittoor: Ministers for Revenue and Transport Anagani Satya Prasad and M Ramprasad Reddy praised Human Resources Minister Nara Lokesh for initiating several innovative educational programmes aimed at encouraging academic excellence among students. As part of this vision, the 'Shining Stars Awards' were presented to students who achieved top scores in the 2024–25 SSC and Intermediate public examinations conducted under the aegis of the Education Department and Samagra Shiksha in which Satya Prasad and Ramprasad took part in Tirupati and Chittoor respectively. At a ceremony held in Tirupati, Revenue Minister Satya Prasad stated that no student should be denied education due to poverty. He lauded Minister Lokesh's efforts to provide value-based education and transform Andhra Pradesh into a knowledge hub. He stated that the government is systematically overhauling the education system from KG to PG, improving infrastructure in government schools and boosting enrollment. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar noted that 207 SSC and 40 Intermediate students, who secured the highest marks in the district, were honoured with Shining Stars Awards, along with Rs 20,000 cash prizes and medals. He encouraged students to shift focus from hard work to smart work, stressing that consistent, focused learning was more effective than long hours of study. He also urged students to balance academics with extracurricular activities to improve concentration. Tirupati and Satyavedu MLAs Arani Srinivasulu and Koneti Adimulam addressed the gathering, while DEO KVN Kumar, SSA CMO Suresh, and leaders from TDP including G Narasimha Yadav, M Sugunamma and RC Munikrishna and JSP leader Dr P Hariprasada were present. In Chittoor, Minister Ramprasad Reddy highlighted the State's initiatives, including successful Parent-Teacher meetings, which enhanced collaboration for students' academic improvement. He said the government is working to strengthen students' physical and mental resilience to face global competition. Chittoor district Collector Sumit Kumar advised students to maintain discipline and social values to reach their goals, warning against excessive mobile and social media use. He added that students' success brings pride not only to families but to their entire communities. Government Whip VM Thomas, MLAs Gurajala Jagan Mohan, Dr K Murali Mohan, Mayor Amuda, and CHUDA Chairperson K Hemalatha also spoke. DEO Varalakshmi and Samagra Shiksha PO Venkataramana among others were also present.

Shining Stars awards presented to SSC, inter students for academic excellence
Nandyal: In a bid to recognise and encourage academic excellence among students, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has instituted the 'Shining Stars Awards' for students who achieved top scores in the SSC and Intermediate Second Year examinations. As part of this initiative, 182 Class 10 students and 35 Intermediate students were felicitated at a district-level award ceremony held at the ASR Kalyana Mandapam in Nandyal on Monday. Speaking at the occasion, Minister Farooq stated that the Shining Stars Awards 2025 were introduced to celebrate students who displayed exceptional performance in the Class 10 and Intermediate exams. Each awardee received a medal, a cash prize of Rs 20,000, and a certificate of appreciation. The awards were presented to students from both government and private institutions across various streams, including MPC, BiPC, HEC, CEC, MEC, and vocational groups, based purely on merit. The Minister emphasided that the government does not differentiate between students of government and private institutions when it comes to acknowledging talent. He urged students to recognise their parents' sacrifices and strive harder to achieve greater heights. Highlighting the academic progress of the district, he noted that Nandyal secured 82% pass percentage in SSC, placing it at the top among Rayalaseema districts. He also lauded the introduction of the 'Naadu-Nedu' and 'Nadu-Nedu: Nauk Vidya' initiatives aimed at enhancing both academic and technical skills among students. He encouraged students to focus not only on academics but also on skill development. Addressing the gathering, district Collector G Rajakumari highlighted that the Shining Stars Award ceremonies are being conducted across all districts as per the vision of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister N Lokesh. She further noted that female student pass percentage exceeded 60% and assured that additional measures are being taken to improve this further.

Govt. working to turn A.P. into knowledge hub, says Revenue Minister
Minister for Revenue Angani Satya Prasad on Monday said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister for Education Nara Lokesh are working together to turn the State into a knowledge hub. The Minister was presenting 'Shining Stars Awards' to meritorious students at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Monday (June 9). Speaking on the occasion, he said, 'As part of the government's goal to make the State a knowledge hub, we are giving 'Shining Star Awards' to recognise talent and encourage meritorious students who have topped in SSC and intermediate examinations. The government is working to bring changes in the curriculum from kindergarten to post-graduation (KG to PG).' The Minister said that Mr. Lokesh is putting the education system back on track. Mid-day meal scheme is being introduced for intermediate students, model schools are being set up across the State, infrastructure is being developed in educational institutions, he said while adding that priority is being given to skill development and skill census is being conducted for the first time in the country. Mr. Prasad asked all the students to use the incentives being provided by the government and rise to high positions. Alleging that the previous government had destroyed the education system in the State, he said, 'A.P. had been ranked third place in the education sector during the regime of TDP, but it came down to 19th place during the YSRCP rule due to destructive policies.' 'The previous government has bankrupted the State in all sectors. Six lakh people attended the beach festival held in Machilipatnam on Sunday. Flamingo Festival and no other such events were conducted during the YSRCP regime. Due to the blow of the previous government, not only the industries, birds and festivals went away from the State,' the Minister alleged.
