MasterChef Singapore runner-up's viral shio pans are back for 9 months – 3 exciting new flavours
Over the past few months, were you one of the lucky ones who got to try the yummilicious shio pans from Shio & Sato? If you couldn't keep up with the rat race of securing an order during the past 1-month pop-up at Takashimaya, Wisma Atria, and Tom's Palette — now's the perfect time to. Shio & Sato is currently at The Centrepoint for 9 whole months!
Yes, you heard me right! The popular buttery, salted rolls — brought to you exclusively by Genevieve Lee, runner-up of MasterChef Singapore — are available from now till the end of Dec 2025 or Jan 2026 (subject to change).
Shio & Sato at The Centrepoint is located at #01-33 F/G within Gastro+, next to Misato and opposite Ollie Kitchen + Bar. It opens from 12pm to 5pm (or till sold out), and only walk-ins are allowed (no pre-order). The best part? There is now a dine-in area for you to enjoy them on the spot!
Each individual piece is hand-stretched, rolled and baked fresh daily.
Are there any new flavours to look forward to? Yes, there are 3 in total — 1 savoury and 2 sweet. Let me dive into each of them right away.
Are you a garlic bread lover? Then try the all-new Garlic Herb Cheese (S$5.50).
At first bite, the sesame‑dusted Garlic Herb Cheese Shio Pan tasted alright. With each subsequent mouthful, however, the flavour grew on me as the aromatic butter and garlic notes became increasingly robust.
The Chocolate (S$4.80), with its rich-brown crust and sweet chocolate filling, is elevated by just a tinge of salt that makes all the difference.
Gen recommended the Butter (S$6.50) which, honestly, left me a little underwhelmed for someone who isn't crazy about red bean. But after trying it, I might just be a convert — if only for a few moments.
You know that creamy, cold stick of butter you love in your kaya toast? Now picture it blended with rich. nutty Azuki beans, and tucked into the salty, chewy crust of a shio pan — it was pure perfection, at least in my eyes.
The usual signature favourites will also be available, including the Sea Salt (S$3.60), Kombu Shio Pan (S$4.80), Hokkaido Milk (S$5.80) and my personal favourite — the Green Chilli Onion Shio Pan (S$5.50).
You can also get beverages to go with your shio pans like Tonic (S$8.50), iced Double Shot (S$8.90), iced Chocolate (S$6), just to name a few.
Whether you're an existing fan or have never tried Shio & Sato, now's your chance to at The Centrepoint!
