Virtual dissection table installed at JSS Medical College
The Department of Anatomy at JSS Medical College, JSS AHER, Mysuru, has installed the Anatomage Table 11, a state-of-the-art virtual dissection table procured from a U.S.-based company, marking a major leap in medical education technology.
The inauguration was held on Tuesday. Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Math and Girish Kapur, senior vice-president, India Site Operations, USP Hyderabad, were the chief guests.
'The Anatomage Table Version 11 is the most advanced 3D anatomy platform available today, offering life-size, high-resolution visualisations of the human body. It enables students and healthcare professionals to study complex anatomical structures with unmatched precision, bridging traditional cadaveric dissection and modern digital methodologies,' according to a press release.
Vinutha S.P., associate professor of Anatomy, gave a demonstration of the facility, showcasing free-hand dissection and in-depth exploration from superficial to deep anatomical structures.
The college said the installation of the Anatomage Table reaffirms its commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into health professions education, empowering students with a deeper, integrated understanding of human anatomy, and advancing precision learning and clinical excellence.
