DWI Checkpoint scheduled for drivers in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department will set up a DWI checkpoint. Scammers impersonate Natchitoches Police to target locals The checkpoint is part of the department's efforts to reduce impaired driving and improve roadway safety. Officers will check for drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The checkpoint will be held on Friday, June 14, in West Shreveport from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Shreveport Police search for two non-compliant sex offenders
DISCLAIMER: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department is actively seeking two convicted sex offenders who have failed to comply with their annual registration requirements. Steven Edward Woods Sr. has failed to complete his 2025 annual sex offender registration with the Shreveport Police Department. Woods was previously convicted of Intentional Exposure to AIDS and has three prior convictions for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. What to expect during the upcoming Shreveport safety checkpoint As a result of his continued non-compliance, a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Waynon Gerald Boatwin has failed to pay his required 2025 sex offender registration fee. Boatwin was convicted of Sexual Battery and has four prior convictions for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. A warrant has also been signed for his arrest. Mandated by the Louisiana Revised Statute 15:542, Registration of Sex Offenders and Child Predators anyone convicted of a sex offense or a crime against a child must register with local law enforcement. They must provide personal details like name, address, and offense info. Registration is required soon after moving, being released, or being convicted. How long someone stays on the registry depends on the crime—anywhere from 15 years to life. Offenders must keep their info updated regularly. Not registering can lead to criminal charges. The Shreveport Police Department says it takes the registration and monitoring of sex offenders seriously to help ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Runaway Juvenile: Shreveport Police Seek local teen
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)— The Shreveport police department is asking for the public's help in locating a runaway juvenile. More Local News Elijah Henderson, a 16-year-old Black male, was last seen at a family member's residence in the 1600 block of Dickinson Street after 4:00 p.m. on May 28, 2025. Elijah is around 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 145 pounds. He also has a tattoo on his right forearm that says 'Elijah' in calligraphy. Elijah was wearing a gray t-shirt, a gray tank top, dark-colored jeans, black shoes, and a black hoodie at the time of his disappearance. He was also carrying a black backpack. If anyone has any information on Elijah's whereabouts, they are urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373. Wanted: Man threatens to kill entire family if they call police

(KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department is actively searching for a man who they say threatened an entire household. Billy Ray Russell is wanted in connection with a disturbing domestic incident that occurred on April 21, 2025 Based on statements from three children at the scene, around 1 p.m., an argument between Russell and the victim began in the garage and quickly escalated. Aggressive fleeing in Shreveport results in multiple arrests During the confrontation, Russell allegedly grabbed a gun and pointed it at the victim and began to make threats. Witnesses say Russell declared he would kill everyone in the home if they called police, then fled the scene with the gun still in his possession. Warrants have been issued for Billy Ray Russell on the following charges: Domestic Abuse Battery, Child Endangerment Law Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault Anyone with information on Russell's whereabouts is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300. Local rapper sentenced for illegal possession of firearms
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Shreveport rapper Green Eyez will be answering to the law for nearly the next decade. The Shreveport District Attorney's office announced that Keynon Frazier, age 29, from Shreveport, has been sentenced to 78 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Frazier was found guilty by a jury on January 15, 2025, for possessing a firearm as a felon. Louisiana rapper 'Green Eyez' guilty of illegal possession of firearms The case began on April 15, 2024, when officers from the Shreveport Police Department tried to stop Frazier's vehicle in downtown Shreveport. Frazier attempted to evade police and ultimately crashed into a telephone pole and another car. After the crash, officers approached the vehicle and discovered two guns: a Glock 17 and a Glock 45 that had an empty shell casing stuck in it. They also observed a bullet-sized hole found in the driver's side windshield. Keynon Frazier is among 40 people who were charged following a lengthy drug investigation in Shreveport-Bossier. Officers learned that Frazier had previous felony convictions for aggravated battery and second-degree robbery and was arrested at the scene. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Aaron Crawford and Cheyenne Wilson. As a convicted felon, he is not allowed to possess any firearms or ammunition.
