Progress in push for more Shrewsbury Hospital parking places
The MP for Shrewsbury has said talks to improve the parking situation at the town's hospital represent a "breakthrough".Julia Buckley has campaigned to improve the number of spaces at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and has collected 1,000 signatures in a petition calling for said as a result "both the hospital and Shropshire Council are now actively working together to move the overflow car park plans forward". The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust thanked her for her ongoing work and said it was "continuing to have discussions with Shropshire Council to explore further transport options". Business as usual after hospital flood
A hospital has said it is returning to "business as usual" after a flood which caused disruption to a number of wards on Tuesday. The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust said a burst water pipe at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford was to blame. It said work would continue over the coming days to complete the clean-up and replace damaged ceiling tiles. It asked patients to continue to attend their appointments as planned unless contacted by the hospital. Ned Hobbs, Chief Operating Officer for at the trust, thanked patients for their understanding and his teams for their work to minimise disruption.
