HC directs fresh complaint in adulterated food case at Mathura temple
Prayagraj: Hearing a petition alleging sale of adulterated food on the campus of Krishna Janmbhoomi at Mathura, the Allahabad High Court has directed the petitioner to make a fresh complaint before the assistant commissioner (food), department of food safety and drug administration, Lucknow within two weeks.
The court directed the official to decide the matter within six weeks after hearing all concerned parties.
The petitioner – Shri Krishna Janmsthan Seva Sansthan through its secretary Kapil Kumar Sharma alleged that one Ashok Raghav, who is seventh respondent in the petition, sold adulterated food and did not follow the provisions of
Food Safety and Standards Act
.
The petitioner alleged that he made a complaint to this effect before the Mathura district magistrate, who is second respondent in the case, on Aug 28, 2024, and subsequently to the Mathura SSP but no decision was taken.
The state counsel told the court that the assistant commissioner (food), department of food safety and drug Administration, Lucknow would take a decision in the matter expeditiously.
Disposing of the petition, Justice Prakash Padia in his decision dated Aug 5 observed: "In view of the order proposed to be passed herein, no useful purpose would be served by putting the opposite party to notice and keeping this petition pending before this court. However, in case the seventh respondent - Ashok Raghav feels aggrieved by the order, his right to seek modification/variation of the order is being kept reserved.
