'No Political Motive Behind Ram Temple Construction,' Says Committee Chief Nripendra Misra

Last Updated: Misra also confirmed that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be completed by June 5 Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra on Wednesday said that there is 'no political objectives" behind the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to PTI, Misra also confirmed that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be completed by June 5. 'No political objectives behind Ram Temple construction… This moment has come after over 500 years of struggle," Misra said. Speaking more about the construction of the temple, Misra stated that it has been built in three phases. 'In the first phase, the ground floor, where the child form of Lord Ram was to be installed in the Garbh Griha, was completed in early 2024, and the Pran Pratishtha was performed. Now, the construction of the first and second floors is nearly complete," he said. Misra further noted that the ongoing work on the first and second floors is nearing completion. The Ram Darbar, which includes idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lord Ram's brothers, and Hanuman, will be installed in the sanctum on the second floor. He said that the final ' Pran Pratishtha ' of the Ram Darbar will take place between June 3 and 5, completing the sacred project. 'The final phase of construction and Pran Pratishtha is scheduled for June 5," Misra added. Following the ceremony, a new portion of the temple will be opened to the public within a week, Misra confirmed. Misra also said that no VIPs from the central or state governments will be invited to the June 5 ceremony. 'Instead, spiritual leaders from different beliefs will be invited to take part in the consecration ceremony," he stated. Misra, who is the former principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is serving as the head of the construction committee and has been closely involved in the coordination and progress of the temple work. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is overseeing the temple's construction.

He added that Spiritual leaders of different beliefs will be invited to consecration ceremony at Ram temple in Ayodhya on June 5. However, he added that no VIPs from central, state governments will be invited to June 5 consecration ceremony.
