A vigilant watch and bravery of an RPF constable of the Central Railway saved the life of a passenger who slipped onto the corner of the platform while attempting to board a moving train at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai. The official's act was captured on CCTV.
The heart-stopping incident took place on May 30, as DN LTT-Kochuveli Garib Rath Express (12201) was departing from Platform Number 4.
In the video, the passenger was seen rushing to board the train after it was already in motion.
The man slipped as he lost his balance and fell into the gap between the train and the platform. The constable, who was already on the platform, vigilant and active, pulled him back to safety and averted a major mishap.
The personnel was identified as Shri Ram Narayan Singh, who works at the Mumbai Division of Central Railway.
The railway officials later said that the passenger had revealed he was in a hurry due to a family emergency. Due to his state of distress, he was counselled and helped in his onward journey with safety.
Narayan Singh was praised for his alertness, bravery, and strong sense of duty. His heroic actions earned him the title of 'Jeevan Rakshak", meaning life-saver.
