Shabir Hussain Santosh: Discover the Spiritual Depths of Shabir Hussain Santosh's 'Beyond Myth & Metaphor' Exhibition

The preview of 'Beyond Myth & Metaphor', a solo exhibition by artist Shabir Hussain Santosh , was held at Shridharani Gallery , Triveni Kala Sangam . Organised by Sanchit Art, the event welcomed art lovers, collectors, and cultural figures, who viewed Santosh's new work ahead of the public opening. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Dr Karan Singh, scholar and statesman, and Prayag Shukla, poet and art critic, were present for the inauguration. They were joined by several artists, curators, and members of Delhi's art community. Many took part in thoughtful discussions about Santosh's evolving visual language and calm, abstract style. Curated with an essay by Archana Khare Ghose, the exhibition focuses on paintings shaped by mythology, memory, and personal experience. The artist uses earthy colours—such as reds and amber—to create quiet, reflective spaces on canvas. Shabir Hussain Santosh, whose work is rooted in the culture of Kashmir, Sufi thought, and Indian temple art, continues to develop his own path. While his practice honours the influence of his father, the late G.R. Santosh, it clearly carries a distinct voice. Rather than telling a story, these works invite visitors to feel and interpret in their own way. Dr. Karan Singh said the work invites reflection not just with the mind, but with the spirit.'Shabir Hussain Santosh's work represents a profound inner journey. His canvases are meditative spaces that do not merely depict mythology but evoke its essence. They invite us to reflect, not just with our minds, but with our spirits. It is heartening to see such contemplative art flourish in our times," said Dr. Karan Singh.
