Pahalgam Attack Victim's Father Writes To PM Modi, Demands Compensation, Martyr Status

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): Sanjay Dwivedi, father of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi, has written two letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded compensation for the families of the April 22 deadly attack victims and a grant of "martyr status". He also described AAP MP Sanjay Singh as "one of the few leaders who stand with truth", and highlighted the issues of the families of the Pahalgam terror victims in Parliament. Mr Dwivedi, while speaking to the ANI, said, "He is one of the few leaders who stands with the truth. He presented our issues in the Parliament with all his might... I hope he will stand by our demands in the future too... I have written two letters to the Prime Minister (demanding compensation for the families of the victims and for the victims to be given the 'martyr' status). This is not a matter of party politics. This is a national issue." Sanjay Singh on Sunday met the family of the Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi during his visit to Kanpur. After the meeting, he spoke to reporters and called on the Union government to grant martyr status to victims. The AAP Rajya Sabha MP stated that he had also raised the demand during the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament. Mr Singh said, "I had raised this point in the Parliament that the victims' families demand that all those who died in Pahalgam should be given the status of martyrs. Shubham's father also demands that the tragic incident that happened cannot be compensated in a lifetime, but the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and the government should definitely take the steps they can. This will also be a message against terrorism." The AAP leader also criticised the government over what he termed a "delay" in providing compensation for the families of the victims."The government must provide compensation and jobs to the families of the Pahalgam terror attack victims. There has been a lot of delay in that," Singh said. Shubham Dwivedi was among the 26 people killed when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists and locals in Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam. Indian armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor on May 7 to avenge the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 people.

‘Relieved, rightly dealt': Pahalgam attack widow welcomes LeT commanders' killing

Aishanya Dwivedi, wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi, has expressed relief over the killing of three Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists allegedly involved in plotting the April 22 attack that left 26 people dead. The three were shot dead by security forces in an encounter near Srinagar on Monday. Aishanya Dwivedi, wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi, said she would not be watching the upcoming India-Pakistan cricket match, calling for a public boycott. (Sourced) In her statement to Hindustan Times on Tuesday, Dwivedi said she felt 'relieved' that the terrorists were not captured alive. 'They didn't show mercy to anyone, and they deserved none,' she said. 'The rest will be hunted down and dealt with the same way.' Dwivedi also said she would not be watching the upcoming India-Pakistan cricket match, calling for a public boycott. 'Only three months have passed since 26 people were killed. And some people want to play cricket? Is a match more valuable than those lives?' she said, urging citizens to stand with the families of the victims. She added that public sentiment should not favour celebrations with a country 'under whose shelter such attacks are planned.'

Priyanka Gandhi slams centre over Pahalgam terror attack

In a powerful address to the House, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra questioned the government's accountability for the April 22, 2025, terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where twenty-six people were killed. She highlighted the government's narrative of peace in Kashmir, which encouraged tourism, contrasting it with the stark reality of the security failure during the attack. Recounting the ordeal of the victims, including Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed in front of his wife, she quoted his wife's words, 'I can say that the country, the government, left us orphaned there.' Vadra criticised the three-year delay in designating the terror group TRF and questioned why the retaliatory 'Operation Sindoor' was halted, an announcement made by the US President. She demanded responsibility from the Prime Minister and Home Minister for the significant intelligence and security lapse that led to the tragedy.

Shubham Dwivedi's kin question PC's remarks, seek martyr status for him

1 2 Kanpur: As the Lok Sabha debated 'Operation Sindoor' on Monday, Aishanya Dwivedi, the wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi, demanded 'Martyr' status for all 26 victims of the horrific incident. She also accused political leaders of undermining the gravity of the April 22 attack this year and reminded them that "terrorists didn't ask for anyone's caste or political party – they attacked Indians". Reacting to the remarks of P. Chidambaram who raised suspicion that this could have been the handiwork of homegrown terrorists, Aishanya said, "I fail to understand why some people -- XYZ or anyone -- are making such insensitive statements. Do they forget that they are Indians first? "You are not thinking like an Indian; you are politicising the issue. It is disrespectful to those who died in Pahalgam, and you are, in a way, siding with Pakistanis. Many families mourned after the Pahalgam attack, and you are undermining their feelings," she said. She called for unified national solidarity, emphasising that this wasn't a political matter. "My husband Shubham was a son of this soil. If this country truly stands by its citizens, this is the time to show it," she said. She stressed the need to address counter-terrorism strategies: "What is the govt doing to eradicate this from the root? What are we doing to fight terrorism? What strategies are in place? What action will we take moving forward? These are the questions that matter most to me today." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Discover the best investment opportunity. سالك Learn More Undo Pursuing martyr status for Shubham Dwivedi and 25 others remains her priority: "Shubham didn't just die; he gave his life for the country. What more does it take to be called a martyr?" She also questioned the approval of the India-Pakistan cricket matches and announced to boycott them. Shubham's father Sanjay Dwivedi expressed anger over Chidambaram's remarks. He said that politics should never be placed above national interest.
