US: Three Indian-origin people found dead after Washington shooting
Washington: Three Indian-origin people were found dead after a shooting at a house in Newcastle town in Washington in the United States, The Seattle Times reported, citing the King County medical examiner's office. King County sheriff's spokesperson Brandyn Hull said Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call around 7 pm on April 24 at a town home off 129th Place Southeast. According to the report in the US media outlet, detectives found blood on the front window and a lone hollow point bullet in the street. Shwetha Panyam (41) and Dhruva Kikkeri (14) died from gunshot injuries. Deaths of Panyam and Dhruva were classified as homicide, while Harshavardhana Kikkeri (44) died due to suicide, according to the medical examiner's office. Brandyn Hull said she could not make a statement on whether the case was believed to be a murder-suicide, The Seattle Times reported. In a statement on Monday, she said, "An investigation such as this takes time, and our detectives are working diligently to try and piece together what led to this incident." "Until this work concludes, the Sheriff's Office won't have any further updates," she added. Homeowner Association President Alex Gumina said a family of four -- a husband, wife and their two sons -- lived in the home and mostly kept to themselves, The Seattle Times reported. The sheriff's office did not release any other information, including any sign of motive or the relationship that the deceased shared.

A Mysuru-based tech entrepreneur died by suicide and his wife and son were found shot dead at their residence near Washington in the United States last week, according to several King County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday identified the victims as 57-year-old Harshavardhana Kikkeri, who was the CEO of HoloWorld, a robotics company headquartered in Mysuru's Vijayanagar, his 44-year-old wife Shwetha Panyam, who is also the co-founder of the company, and their 14-year-old County sheriff's spokesperson Brandyn Hull said police are suspecting a murder-suicide, The Seattle Times reported. However, officials are still ascertaining the exact reason behind the incident. The incident happened on Thursday night (US time) and is under investigation. An Indian tech entrepreneur allegedly shot dead his wife and one of his sons at their home in the United States last week, before taking his own life, said the police. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Harshavardhana S Kikkeri (57), his wife, Shwetha Panyam (44), and their 14-year-old son. The incident, which was reported from Newcastle in Washington, took place on April 24. One of their sons escaped the tragedy as he was away from home when the incident occurred. News broadcasters at the scene saw investigators escorting a child from the home and providing comfort. The King County Sheriff's Office has not yet released the identities of the children. It is not immediately clear, said the cops, as to what the provocation was for the extreme act. An investigation into the matter is underway, said the police. According to multiple media reports, which quoted neighbours, the family was described as friendly but reserved. Harshvardhan S Kikkeri, who hailed from KR Pet Taluk of Mandya district, was the founder and CEO of HoloWorld, a robotics company headquartered in Mysuru. His wife was the company co-founder. The entrepreneur, at the peak of his success, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to propose utilising robots for border security purposes.
