Brit left fighting for his life after 22ft shock Ibiza car park plunge
A 26-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he fell from a car park and the shocking incident comes after a series of recent fatal falls suffered by Brits whilst abroad A British man is fighting for his life in hospital after a mystery 22ft plunge in Ibiza left him with devastating injuries. The man, not yet named, is in a critical condition after falling from a considerable height at a commercial centre in Sant Antoni de Portmany. It is understood he fell from the car park of the Mercadona supermarket located on Johann Sebastian Bach Street last night, emergency service state. His age was originally given as 30 but later revised to 26. It is not known if he was on holiday in Ibiza or a resident. The alert was received at 8.16pm last night as two ambulances rushed to the scene of the incident - one advanced life support and the other a basic life support vehicle. The man, who had multiple injuries, was treated at the scene by health personnel and later transferred in a critical condition to the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinic. At the moment, the exact circumstances of the event have not been made public. A full investigation is underway and the results are awaited. According to the medical report issued by the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinic, the patient, confirmed of British nationality, remains in the Intensive Care Unit in a very serious condition. He suffered a severe head trauma with a skull fracture, multiple facial fractures, a spinal fracture, vertebral fracture at the dorsal level, a chest fracture and abdominal trauma with lacerations to the liver and spleen. The shocking incident comes after a series of recent fatal falls suffered by Brits whilst abroad. Last week, a 25-year-old British tourist died after falling from a hotel balcony in Malta. Medics rushed to Cavalieri Art Hotel in St Julian early on Friday morning, where they found the body of the man from north Wales on the ground. He couldn't be saved and was later pronounced dead. Sian Gwenllian, the Member of the Senedd for Arfon, said: 'News of the death of a 25-year-old from Gwynedd in Malta is truly devastating. The pain his family must be experiencing is unimaginable. My thoughts, and those of the people of Gwynedd, are with them in their grief.' A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: 'We are in contact with the local authorities regarding the death of a British man in Malta.' Welsh MP Liz Saville Roberts, who represents Dwyfor Meirionnydd, said: 'Heartbreaking news. My heart goes out to the young man's family at this extremely difficult time.' Last month, another British tourist died after falling from a wall in Majorca in a tragic accident. The 41-year-old lost his balance and plunged around 16ft to his death at the beautiful resort beach of Cala Aguila on the island's northeast coast. Firefighters and police recovered the man's body after receiving a 999 call. He is said to have died instantly after falling from the wall in a rocky area, around 1.30am this morning. It was not immediately clear if he had been on his own or with other people at the time. Police sources said today they were treating the incident as an accident. In May, a 39-year-old British woman tragically died after plunging around 60ft from a scenic beauty spot overlooking the sea in Palma, Majorca. She was rushed to hospital with critical injuries but died later that day on May 19. Weeks earlier in April, a 63-year-old British tourist died after a horror fall from the Segovia aqueduct in Spain. Emergency services raced to the scene after horrified witnesses reported seeing the man tumble from an observation deck.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the Brit fell off his balcony at around 4.15am. The tragic fall happened at the Cavalieri Art Hotel, Times of Malta confirmed. Police in the UK has confirmed the dead Brit was from Gwynedd, in northern Wales, the Mirror reports. The road outside the hotel was temporarily closed on Friday morning as emergency services worked on the scene before taking the body away. The hotel appeared to be operating as usual by 9am with Malta Police confirming their investigations are ongoing. Welsh MP Sian Gwenllian, who represents Arfon, described the death as 'truly devastating'. She said: 'News of the death of a 25-year-old from Gwynedd in Malta is truly devastating.
