Travis Scott' act cost Coachella a fine of $20,000 as his set breaks curfew rules

Travis Scott closed out Coachella's Saturday night set on April 12; however, his performance came at a cost. Apart from the artist fee, the organisers had to pay a fine of $20,000 since Scott extended his performance by three minutes. #Pahalgam Terrorist Attack The groundwork before India mounts a strike at Pakistan India considers closing airspace to Pakistani carriers amid rising tensions Cold Start: India's answer to Pakistan's nuclear threats The extension of his performance exceeded the city administration-imposed 1 am curfew. The event organiser Goldenvoice must pay the fine, which stems from a 2013 agreement with the City of Indio . This agreement, as per media reports, enforces the strict curfew limits on festival nights—1 am on Fridays & Saturdays, and midnight on Sundays. As per a Billboard report, Scott was supposed to begin his set at 11.40 pm but delays pushed his start time. This ultimately led to him finishing his performance only three minutes later than intended. A similar delay happened on the second weekend, but the rapper finished his set before the curfew to avoid the penalties. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Only curfew violation this season The City of Indio issued a statement on the incident involving Travis Scott. They said that the three-minute overshoot was the only curfew breach across Coachella's two weekends and the Stagecoach country music festival, which concluded on April 27, 2025. Reportedly, the agreement with the city stipulates an immediate $20,000 fine for any performance which goes up to five minutes past curfew. Beyond that, the organisers have to pay an additional $1,000 per minute. ‘Diabolical' Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet share steamy kiss at Coachella 2025 — same day Travis Scott performed

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet packed on the PDA at Coachella 2025 — the same day her ex-boyfriend Travis Scott performed. The reality star and the 'Wonka' actor appeared in good spirits while holding hands while arriving at the annual music festival in Indio, Calif., on Saturday. Later in the day, the couple was seen in a fan video sharing a steamy kiss and hugging while watching a performance. Jenner stepped out wearing a white crop top, low-waisted white pants, black shoes and a camouflage hat, while Chalamet sported a brown T-shirt, baggy black shorts, brown boots and a trucker hat. Fans took to social media to comment on the pair's outing, with several pointing out that Scott, 33, was slated to perform at the festival that same day. 'The day travis is performing is diabolical idk,' one person wrote. 'Right on time for Travis Scott ,' another quipped, as a third added, 'Let them leave before Travis sings .' Jenner, 27, was involved in an on-again, off-again romance with the 'Sicko Mode' rapper from 2017 to 2023. The exes called it quits following cheating allegations but have continued to co-parent their kids: Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3. Following their breakup, Jenner reportedly started dating Chalamet, 29, in April 2023 when she was seen in the driveway of his Los Angeles home. At the time, an insider described their relationship to 'Entertainment Tonight' as 'fun' and 'a lot different than her past relationships.' The 'Kardashians' star and the 'Dune' actor took their romance public in September 2023 when they passionately made out at Beyoncé's 'Renaissance' tour concert in LA. Jenner and Chalamet have since continued to flaunt their romance at award shows, film festivals and date nights. Most recently, the two couldn't keep their hands off each other while at the BNP Paribas Indian Wells Open in March. At one point, the two-time Oscar nominee asked the makeup mogul to 'wait a minute' when she asked for a kiss.

Travis Scott to bring Circus Maximus tour to Qatar in May

US rapper Travis Scott is set to bring his blockbuster Circus Maximus tour to Qatar, with a performance at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Doha on May 16. The announcement marks the third Gulf country he has performed in, following shows in Abu Dhabi in 2016 and 2023, and three separate concerts in Riyadh in 2023. Launched in 2023 in support of his album Utopia, the stadium tour is on track to become one of the highest-grossing solo rap tours of all time. It has reportedly grossed more than $200 million and sold about 1.6 million tickets to date. Visually, the tour resembles a haunted theme park, complete with dystopian flying heads and explosive pyrotechnics. The setlist features standout tracks from Utopia, including Hyaena, Sirens and Fe!n, alongside fan favourites such as Sicko Mode and Butterfly Effect. Reviewing Scott's 2023 performance at the Soundstorm music festival in Riyadh, The National praised the 'brooding and gothic quality' of the show, noting: 'Scott's punk-like energy and the sheer drama of his tracks still make him one of the most dramatic and controversial artists on stage.' Travis Scott's debut performance in Qatar follows a series of first-time shows planned in several countries, including India, South Korea and South Africa in October, as well as China and Japan in November. Scott's return to the Gulf coincides with the launch of the inaugural 1001 Festival, set to take place in Riyadh on April 24 and 25. Organised by MDL Beast – the team behind Soundstorm – the dance music festival will be held in the city's Binban district and features about 70 artists performing across five stages inspired by stories from One Thousand and One Nights. Headliners include DJ Snake, Salvatore Ganacci, Seth Troxler and Eric Prydz. Tickets for both events are available separately online.
