Rod Stewart gives fans four-word health update ahead of Glastonbury appearance

Singer Sir Rod Stewart has shared a four-word health update after he was forced to postpone a recent tour date in Las Vegas with the popular star set to appear at Glastonbury later this month Legendary singer Sir Rod Stewart has given fans a brief health update after recently celebrating his 80th birthday. The Da Ya Think I'm Sexy crooner, who marked his milestone birthday earlier this year, has fans worldwide following an impressive career that has spanned several decades. ‌ Despite the global superstar status that Sir Rod enjoys today, it took a while for him to achieve worldwide fame. ‌ His career began modestly and it wasn't until the 1960s when he launched his solo career that his star started to ascend. Following the release of his third album, Every Picture Tells A Story, Sir Rod catapulted to fame as the record topped the charts in the UK, US, Canada and Australia. His career has continued to soar over the years, with the 80 year old still touring globally and releasing new music. Last year, he collaborated with Jools Holland to release Swing Fever, reports Edinburgh Live. However, during a recent appearance on the Sidetracked with Annie and Nick podcast, he said "I couldn't be better," before adding: "I'm enjoying my life, I've got good health so far and a happy family." This health update comes amidst news that he had to postpone his concert at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, which was scheduled for last Sunday (June 1). ‌ Sir Rod Stewart has regretfully announced on Instagram: "I am so sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10." Previously in January, the legendary musician had to pull out from performances in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Lincoln, California due to a bout of strep throat and a Covid diagnosis. With his recent Las Vegas performance rescheduled for next Tuesday (June 10), the iconic singer-songwriter is gearing up to return to British shores later in the month. Sir Rod is set to hit the stage at Glastonbury Festival later this month, a moment he shared his exhilaration about with followers stating: "After all these years, I'm proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I'll see you there!". It's been a long wait since Sir Rod last charmed the crowds at Glastonbury, where he was a headline act on the Pyramid Stage back in 2002, 23 years ago.

James Blake Says 'Bashing' of Coldplay 'Has Got to Stop'

The post James Blake Says 'Bashing' of Coldplay 'Has Got to Stop' appeared first on Consequence. James Blake has stood up for fellow Brits Coldplay, calling for the 'bashing' of the band to come to an end because 'it's not cool anymore.' Blake shared his opinion during a recent episode of the BBC Sounds podcast Sidetracked with Annie and Nick, when he was asked to weigh in on a recent social media post from Chrissie Hynde, in which she shared what she thought was 'cool' versus 'uncool.' Get Coldplay Tickets Here Host Nick Grimshaw kicked off the conversation by asking Blake whether he thought bands in general were 'cool' again. After Annie Macmanus chimed in to say that it was hard to be a cool 'successful touring band,' the topic turned to how Coldplay was recently described as 'public school Nickelback' by BRIT Awards host Jack Whitehall. In response, Blake said: 'Coldplay bashing has got to stop. It's not cool anymore! It's not cool anymore to just be like 'Coldplay's not cool.' Just fuck off. There are so many amazing Coldplay songs. And Chris Martin is clearly a melodic genius.' He continued, '[If] you don't like the sound of their last few records, OK…? When you go and see them at Glastonbury, did you like a lot of the songs? Probably.' 'Maybe the band changed the way they dressed? Are we not allowed to change the way we dress?' Blake asked. 'Are we not allowed to bloody write songs in a different genre? Like, who cares, man? I get really a bit irate about this!' Listen to the podcast here. The Coldplay discussion begins around 14:21. For what it's worth, Martin recently revealed he's learned to embrace haters in an interview with Rolling Stone, while also admitting Coldplay are 'a very, very easy, safe target.' He added, 'There've been times where we [were like], 'Well, we should probably try and look a bit like this or talk a bit like that.' And now, it's just like, 'No.'' Haters aside, Coldplay are set to resume their record-setting international 'Music of the Spheres Tour' in April. See the full schedule below, and get tickets here. Last summer, Blake teamed up with Lil Yachty for their collaborative album, Bad Cameo. His most recent solo album was 2023's Playing Robots into Heaven; grab your copy here.
