Did Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor take a subtle dig at Priyanka Chopra?
Actress Kareena Kapoor took a subtle dig at her contemporary, Priyanka Chopra while speaking at the WAVES Summit 2025. Bebo said that she is very happy working in the Indian film industry and speaking Hindi dialogues. 'I am very happy with my Indian movies and acting in them. It is a lot of fun to dance on a Hindi film track, speaking Hindi dialogues- after all, I am a Sikhni from Batinda (hinting at her film Jab We Met),' Kareena said. When filmmaker Karan Johar stated that 'you have already declared that 'Main apni favourite hu' ( I am my favourite) (Again from Jab We Met), then why not', the diva replied by saying that according to her every female should believe in this line. 'I think this line is extremely important because I believe every female should always say this line — Main apni favourite hu'. I think that it is the best thing.' Kareena added. This statement by Kareena can be seen as a jibe at Priyanka as she has been doing a lot of projects in Hollywood while staying away from Bollywood. However, after a long gap, PeeCee will be returning to the Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli's 'SSMB29', opposite Mahesh Babu. She is presently in India for the shoot of her next. Priyanka was last seen in Bollywood in 2016 with Shonali Bose's 'The Sky Is Pink.' In the meantime, Kareena expressed her pride and gratitude at being a part of the panel discussion at the WAVES Summit 2025 through a heartfelt social media post. In a heartfelt post on social media, Bebo expressed how proud she felt to represent India on such a dynamic platform that highlights the country's growing influence in the global entertainment industry. For the 'Udta Punjab' actress, participating alongside influential voices from cinema, technology, and business was not only an honour but also a chance to represent the evolving role of women in film and storytelling. Calling it the beginning of a 'creative movement,' Kareena emphasized that India is no longer just participating in global conversations around entertainment — it's leading them. She lauded the summit for spotlighting India's potential as an emerging superpower in the creative space and for setting the tone for the future of storytelling, content creation, and innovation. WAVES 2025, one of the most anticipated entertainment events of the year, officially began on May 1 in Mumbai. Organized by the Government of India, this marks the first edition of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, aimed at celebrating and showcasing the country's vibrant media and entertainment landscape. The event is being held at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. Indo-Asian News Service

Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals if she has plans to go to Hollywood: 'Main bhatinda ki sikhni hoon'
Kareena Kapoor Khan recently attended the Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 on Friday, May 2. The actress had a discussion with Karan Johar where she was seen talking about Hindi cinema. During this interaction, Karan reminded her of the time she had said on his show, ' Koffee With Karan ', that 'Sab bus pakad pakadke Hollywood jaa rahe hai'. The actress had said this when Karan asked her about Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone going to Hollywood. As Karan reminded her of that again at the WAVES summit and asked her about her Hollywood plans, Kareena said, "Main to yahi pe hu. I am very happy with my Indian movies and acting. Bada mazaa aata hai. Humare Hindi film gaane pe dance karna. Bada mazaa aata hai Hindi dialogues bolna. Bhatinda ki Sikhni hu bhai. (I'm right here. I'm very happy with my Indian movies and acting. I really enjoy it. I love dancing to our Hindi film songs. I really enjoy delivering Hindi dialogues. I'm a Sikhni from Bhatinda)." Karan then reminded her of her dialogue from 'Jab We Met', and said, "Aapne to keh bhi diya aap apni favourite ho, so why not? (You already said you're your own favourite, so why not?)." Kareena responded that this line is a reminder for every woman to love herself. "Ye line bohot hi important hai because every girl, every woman should always say this line. Ki main apni favourite hoon boss. I think that's the best thing. (This line is very important because every girl, every woman should always say this line – that I'm my own favourite, boss. I think that's the best thing)," said Kareena. On work front, Kareena was last seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Singham Again'.
