HomeComing platform launched to help experienced software professionals find job in Coastal Karnataka

The Silicon Beach Programme (SBP), a group working to promote economy in Coastal Karnataka using technology industry as a catalyst, on Saturday launched 'HomeComing' platform to connect experienced software professionals who want to work in the Coastal Karnataka region. Rohith Bhat, SBP convenor and founder of wrkwrk, 99 Games and Robosoft, said, 'The inability to get experienced professionals was one of the issues faced by companies opening their workspaces in the region. The new platform has provided a solution.' The platform ( will help companies to fill posts and scale up their operations. Experienced professionals working in metros were waiting for right opportunities to work in the region. The platform was beneficial to professionals and to the companies, he said. Mr. Bhat said as many as 542 jobs in 43 companies were on offer on the platform. While the experienced professionals can look at the variety of jobs on offer, the companies can look at available talent pool. More companies will be onboard to the portal shortly, he said. Launching the portal, MP for Dakshina Kannada Capt. Brijesh Chowta said that recently Mangaluru was declared as safest city. More Mangaloreans should come back to their native place and work for the growth of the region. Capt. Chowta said he has initiated 'Back to Ooru' programme to make Mangaloreans, who were based abroad, to set up their units in their native place. The State government should do more to tap the innate talent of the natives of Coastal Karnataka and harness growth of the region. Chetan Dixit, vice-president of Beyond Bengaluru, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, and Shyamprasad Hebbar, chief people services officer of unifyCX, spoke on the occasion.

The final stop was a tour of Pilikula Nisargadhama, including the artisan village and the king cobra breeding centre, providing a glimpse into the region's ecological richness. They also held engagements by visiting Vertex Workspace and LCode Technologies, interacting with local companies and gaining insights into Mangaluru's growing tech ecosystem. Later, they visited Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management and Shine Foundation, focusing on the collaboration potential between academia and innovation."We have been informed by the delegation that they were positive about the region, and would want to understand more about the ecosystem. Another delegation would visit the region soon," Mukesh said.
