OPEN// FM inaugurates Egypt's 'Siltal' factory in Senegal
CAIRO, July 25 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Friday inaugurated Egypt's Siltal factory for manufacturing home appliances in Senegal's capital, Dakar, in the presence of Senegalese Minister of Trade and Industry Serigne Guèye Diop, as well as a number of Senegalese officials.
In his speech, Abdelatty said this industrial project is an important step towards enhancing Egypt's economic activity in Africa and reflects the Egyptian State's commitment to fostering cooperation with African nations in various fields, particularly in the areas of manufacturing and technology transfer.
The top Egyptian diplomat added the project embodies Egypt's strategy for achieving shared development with its African partners, citing the country's keenness to increase Egyptian investments abroad, especially in Africa.
He stated the factory will provide high-quality electrical products at competitive prices for both local and regional markets, in addition to facilitating the transfer of the Egyptian industrial expertise.
On his part, Diop lauded Egypt's key role in supporting projects and investments in Senegal, as well as its contribution to transferring knowledge and advancing economic development.
The Senegalese minister said his country is fully ready to offer all necessary facilitation to Egyptian businessmen wishing to invest in the Senegalese market. (MENA)
