Cable theft causes power outage in Newtown in Port Shepstone
Ray Nkonyeni Municipality (RNM) says it is aware of a power outage in Oslo Beach, and is busy rectifying the problem.
It has been caused by the theft of a 17mx70 mm cable from the Esayidi TVET College Mini Substation on Marine Drive, affecting half of Kinsey Road.
Also, a low voltage network fault in Newtown (Port Shepstone) has impacted the functioning of traffic lights within the area.
The spokesperson for RNM, Simon April, says teams are working around the clock to address both issues.
'We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.'
