"FIS extends its heartfelt condolences to Margot's family and loved ones and offers its full support in this incredibly difficult time." Olympic star Vonn, 40, led tributes for the former under-18 slalom champion. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "Sincere condolences to the family." World Cup skier Mikaela Shiffrin also offered her condolences on social media. Fans also paid tribute to Simond on social media. One posted: "Sincere condolences." A second wrote: "Very sad news."
