SB19 serves looks in 'Simula at Wakas' concert portraits
SB19 is on fire in their pre-show portraits for their Simula at Wakas World Tour kick-off concerts. In photos posted on their official social media pages, the P-Pop Kings each wore unique garments, but were all cohesive following the dark blue, tan, ivory, and silver color scheme. Pablo wore an ivory top with dark blue cuffs and a vest with beaded details, matched with tan trousers and boots. Josh opted for a tan top with no shirt underneath but had large silver details. He then had dark blue trousers with an ivory waist scarf. Stell was in all-blue in a number with cutouts and silver details, and Ken likewise was in all-blue, donning a dapper blazer and trousers. Finally, Justin wore a blue piece with silver details forming an eye on top of a white shirt and blue trousers. He also wore gloves with the same details as his top. SB19 dropped their EP 'Simula at Wakas' in April which includes the songs 'DAM' and 'DUNGKA!' SB19 dedicates appreciation message for A'TIN after Philippine Arena concerts
SB19 is deeply grateful to A'TIN following their two-night show at the Philippine Arena last weekend. The P-Pop Kings posted a highlight reel of their concerts on Instagram, and said A'TIN has been there for them since the start of their journey. 'From just a small crowd to now seeing a whole ocean in front of us, no stage is ever too small, no dream is ever too big, as long as you're with us,' the band said. 'We wouldn't be here without you, A'TIN. Maraming salamat sa patuloy na pagsabay sa aming mga pangarap,' they added. 'Magkita-kita tayo soon sa next stops ng Simula at Wakas World Tour!' TikToker-pharmacist Arshie Larga brings driver to SB19's Simula at Wakas concert
Arshie Larga made hearts melt with his thoughtful gesture during SB19's Simula at Wakas concert at the Philippine Arena last weekend. The TikToker-pharmacist said in a TikTok video that he rented a car and hired a driver for the event. Arshie had an extra ticket so he asked his driver, whom he simply called Sir, if he wanted to watch. The driver said yes. The video showed the driver talking about wanting to watch a show at the largest arena and Arshie said, 'Ayan, mararanasan mo na.' Arshie added in the comments section, 'Naisip ko lang din kasi na instead maghintay si Sir sakin sa parking, bakit di ko na lang isama manuod. Buti pumayag naman.' In the clips that Arshie shared, the driver could be seen bobbing his head to the music and taking videos. 'During the concert, lagi syang nagvi-video tapos sinesend nya sa anak nya kasi never pa daw nakanuod ng concert. KUNG ALAM KO LANG TALAGA!' Arshie said. On their way home, the driver said he cried to SB19's song 'MAPA' because he remembered his parents who passed away. He also said he was happy to watch a concert again. As of this writing, Arshie's video has 3.7 million views, 751,800 likes, and 6,871 comments. SB19 member Stell said, 'ARSHIE' with a teary-eyed emoji. Justin also reposted the video. Over the weekend, the P-Pop Kings kicked off their Simula at Wakas World Tour with a two-night concert at the Philippine Arena. P-pop group SB19 shares pride on new album and growing global reach
Filipino pop sensation reflects on musical journey with 'Simula at Wakas' Filipino pop powerhouse SB19 is back with a new album, marking another milestone in its evolving musical journey. The five-member group spoke with reporters during an online press conference Wednesday, introducing its latest project and reflecting on the career so far. Formed in 2018 through a collaboration between Korean entertainment company ShowBT and local talent agency in the Philippines, SB19 combines K-pop training methodology with homegrown Filipino artistry. The name SB19 reflects this blend — 'SB' stands for ShowBT and also symbolizes 'Sound Break,' a commitment to breaking the limits of P-pop, while '19' is derived from subtracting the Philippines' country code 63 from South Korea's 82. The group's new EP, "Simula at Wakas," released April 25, features seven tracks that highlight the group's continued artistic development. Pre-released track 'DAM' takes its title from the Tagalog word "pakiramdam" -- meaning feeling -- and conveys a message about overcoming adversity with determination. The album's main track, 'Time,' is an emotional ballad that speaks to the value of living in the present. 'We've been writing and producing our own music, and through that, we've been carving out our own sound. We made a lot of progress in both our technical and creative sides. This album, in particular, focuses on a grander, more cinematic sound,' said Pablo. SB19's influence has spread well beyond their home country. In April, 'DAM' topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, while, back in 2021, the group became the first Southeast Asian group to be nominated for Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards, competing alongside global icons such as BTS and Ariana Grande. The group has also made its mark on the K-pop community, especially through the viral success of the hit song 'Gento.' Many K-pop idols have posted their own versions of the energetic and bold choreography, helping the track gain international traction. Among them was EXO's Kai, whose participation in the 'Gento' challenge was particularly meaningful to the group. 'We used to cover EXO's songs a lot when we were starting out. Seeing him dance to our song was surreal and really touching,' said Stell. He also expressed appreciation for other K-pop artists like Enhypen, Ateez and Katseye who joined the challenge. Pablo added, 'We're so proud of what 'Gento' has achieved. Watching other incredible artists dance to our music and share it with their fans around the world has been overwhelming in the best way.' Asked about the group's musical identity, Josh highlighted SB19's versatility. 'We always try to experiment with different genres and turn them into something uniquely ours. Rather than simply following trends, we focus on creating music that truly reflects who we are,' he said. Following the new album drop, SB19 is gearing up for a global tour that will take them across North America, Asia and the Middle East, continuing to expand its reach.
